Best rifle for class 2-3?

What's the best rifle for these classes considering all the DLC?

243 you get it free with the game, I always carry 243 303 and 300 using the packmule perk, plus enough callers and tent

Def .243 for the range, but if you want a challenge and like stalking, the Air Rifle is pretty good. Quieter, and seven shots in quick succession, if needs be.

The 30-30 lever action rifle is also a good choice. It has more stopping power than the 243 though less range.

.243 is best option. Sometimes I use Solokhin when there are lot of class 3 animals and I´m not going for class 2.

I second the .30-30, its just a really fun rifle to shoot with; its short barrel and hollow point rounds. It feels very different from other rifles. The front pin is very thin, though like with many of the iron sights in the game, the front and rear sight don't perfectly center which is annoying visually but it doesn't change aim in the game so it works fine.

The .30-30 struggles with class 6 over its appropriate distance but is wonderful for class
2-4 imo.

I stopped using scopes because of the .30-30 and the .45-70, to feel how the game plays and it has been really rewarding landing good shots with just the iron sights at 100+ meters. Especially with the Focused Shot perk.

the 30-30 is nice on herds and close distances up to 70yards or so. Above that the .243 is master.
i shoot both with the cheap or free ammo

The starter weapon -- > The .243. It's almost useless for most stuff; but if you need to take JUST ONE RIFLE for class 2 and 3, it is the .243.

The bow with 300 grain (320? whatever) is better, if you are doing close range hunting from a stand (e.g., a tripod).

243 is the absolute most optimal for that range specifically if you want most bang for your buck it can kill up to i think its class 6 animals but anything after 3 is not a great idea tbh

243 is a definitely #1 for me but i will say the .45 cyclone air rifle is in a nice second place because from my experience when using it in close quarter to a group of animals it scares the animals less then even a bow, as well as having a high fire rate and low/no recoil
