And no never heard!
probably, my first time hearing them was also a wtf moment for me xD
1: Rosevelt Elk
These guys have an awesome sounding high squeal. Usually a few seconds long and wavering in pitch. The first time you hear it, you wonder what the hades you just alerted. One is almost not sure they're warning each other, or trying to intimidate YOU.
2: Moose
Their mating call is kind of a horn blast of sorts. But their warning call is kind of a blasty metallic howl. Almost sounds like a growl through a stove pipe.
Another sound you can hear, that you won't get a marker for, is a Deer Panic sound. It sounds like an air-filled cackle followed by a descending whine. (KHA-HA-HA-HAAYEAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!) Almost like a door creaking shut. Or, if you're from the central US, it sounds like the cackling call of Grackle. (Small black or brown bird with a V shaped tail plumage. Almost always sounds like it's laughing at everyone. Often noticeable by its cackling rising whine. 'Kfftftft-fweeeeEEEE!')
