what is a good place to set up an hunting tent or tower?
in hirchvelden preverably with a wide point of view and a lot of animals nearby.
edit.
also. how is the tent dlc. i think about buying it together with the new map. at least.. if the new map isn't too pricy. i hear a lot about bugs.
do the hunting tent focus the same as hunting towers? that interests me the most.. because them towers are always on the wrong place. and ixpensive as F at least.. for a noob like me.

there is no good spot that you can set it and forget. Animals migrate - and while there are "Hotzones" due to spawnings - you never know when they are going to spawn so you maybe camping a while.

However I would suggest if you are going ot set up. Pick either cornfields or a lake... You can usually find a lot of animals in either of those 2 spots with wide fields of fiew.

While you are semi right, they do migrate, most tend to stay in the same area.

Find a spot you like in schondfelt strawfields, there will almost always be at least one herd of fallow within calling distance. When I really want a good harvest I walk through through fields and sit every so often and throw some calls out. I have a permanent portable blind set up in schondfelt, as well as mullerwald.

That being said, those are the only places I tend to leave blinds. Most of the other spots are hit or miss on having things.

Things to take note of; tents and portable blinds are extremely noisy to set up. Do not expect to be able to see a herd and throw the blind down without them spooking. (I tend to find an area where there is plenty of tracks/need zones and put it down, then either go rest at a lodge or hunt somewhere else for a bit)

tents and blinds are heavy, they are the only reason I ever bother to use a backpack, as I dont care what I scare while on my way to the area im putting the blind due to not hunting there right away. I typically drive it out with an atv as well.

Keep in mind using either a stand or a blind (built or placed) will only affect visibility. So if you have improved blind from the stalker tree you will see almost no benefit that you couldnt receive from just laying down. EDIT: In a bush (yes this makes it harder to see the animals but you can hear them just fine, learn what their footsteps sound like at what range and pop up into a crouch, they will hesitate and give a warning call giving you all the time in the world to line up your shot.)

The best benefit Ive seen from the DLC is the placeable tents, as you can fast travel to them. This makes the map alot more accessible, at least your favorite hunting spots, without scaring everything with an atv.

To summarize, yes the DLC is worth it, but not really for the blinds. Have fun with them sure, but the real prize of the dlc is the tents.

I find that blinds keep animals at bay. Idk, maybe it's just me but I've hunted some of my favorite hotspots daily and 9 times out of 10 I get my kills. Then..... I decide to set up a blind in that area. Guess what happened? Day after day, session after session, my favorite hotspot becomes a dead end hunt. No hunting pressure either. Maybe it's just bad luck, but I ended up removing the blinds and never used them again, and the funniest thing happened.... The animals came back, Go figure!!!

okay, thanks for the answers. i think i could use the fast traveling too. since i don't like walking a lot.

i hope the tent dlc is discounted when the new dlc comes out. that would be nice.
easiest place is near big lake areas.the thing is while at first it will be amazing as you gradually wipe out animals it will become barren.so best to either just slaughter loads of animals for cash then move to another area similar or pick only decent animals to shoot.

While you are semi right...

Dont be pedantic - I am not semi-right I am spot on in my description. As I stated there are hot zones - meaning there is a lot of foot traffic in some areas. A lot of those hotzones are in cornfields and near water as I explained to OP. However, just because you set up a blind in a hotzone doesn't guarantee that foot traffic will constnatly be at that one spot. Areas will dry up as you hunt in them - period.

What was once a great hunting spot will soon dry up forcing you to hunt somewhere else. Animals migrate from one need zone area to the next and thre is no guarantee that they will continue to frequent the same spots - especially as you are hunting them in a particular area -they will start to avoid areas as you thin them out. You will not be able to blind hunt in the same spot indefinitely - you are going to have to move around the map and apply pressure to different areas of the map.

For example - I have a favorite lake to hunt Red Deer at - however after a few days of hunting in the area - they stopped visiting the lakes for a few days - even with 0 hunting pressure in the area. Why? Because they migrate from need zone to need zone - just because they once visited the spot I like to hunt doesnt mean they will do so every time.

Sure - you will find something to shoot in that area/spot eventually but it wont always be what you want to shoot/hunt.

To the OP - as I stated - pick an area in a cornfield or near a lake - it will give you the best chance of nabbing stuff as I originally stated. Just be prepared to move around as you can not hun the same spot forever. best of luck to you.

They do not migrate from zone to zone, typically. You can chase them to another zone, and you can call them to another zone. The herds wont spawn and then decide to "migrate" across the map.

They will thin out because you have killed too many before respawns.

Of course you cannot hunt the same spot. Spawns will dry up and you will need to give them time to respawn, which are set points in the map, they will then branch out from there.
