Bow Guide
Hello all

I really need help for the Bow. I have the 70 Bow with the 3 Pin Sight.

If i work with the Distance-Perk (20/40/60) I never mhit the animal clean.

Can someone suggest to me with which Perk i should play hunting with bow? And also explain the distance of the 3 pins.

Actually i think it is:

Green: 0-10m
Yello: 18-24m
Red: 45-50m?

Thanks!

The 3-pin sight is impractical. The 5-pin is ideal. The distances of each pin with the 70 pound bow and zero to 60 meters are:

arrows of 420g/600g
Top pin: 20/12
Upper middle pin: 35/25
Main pin: 54/39
Lower middle pin:?? /54
Lower pin:??? /??????

I recommend using single pin sight and to practice at the shooting range for 1 hour you will get a good feel for it and in time be much more accurate than you will ever be with 3/5 pins sights.

Ok no problem =)

So you suggest to me to hunt with the normal sight and not using the 3 pin sight?

I need more then 2k Bow-Points to get the 5 Pin Sight =( I first have to find a good spot to hunt alot and get the 5pin Sight, till that you suggest to hunt with the normal sight and not with the 3pin sight?

Single pin better than 3 pin sight. If you take the "focused Shot" in the rifle tree perk, then you can get a better zoom with your basic pin sight. Try always the 420g arrow and the Hawk edge bow in order to learn faster how the single pin sight works.

I've been running shooting tests right now with the basic pin, extra zoom and the 420-gram arrow. If you have seen my tutorial you will be able to use the simple pin pointing as with the 5-pin one. Point with the highest part of the single pin at the lowest part of the animal is in the distance up to 55 meters. You should be okay.

the bow have a problem in this game, because the ballistics is not realistic.

And i think they could be more options for compound bow : Example in reality we can adjust the sight pins and choose distances. Is not possible in game. And the Peep Sight is not correctly positioned relative to the eye. finally it lacks the quiver.

the compound bow is a light version of that of thehunter:classic

Honestly - you dont need anything more than the single pin. I suggest you invest in the rifle perk "Zeroing" it allows you to zero your weapon. You can choose 21 43 and 65 yards for the shots you can take. Having that perk allows you to adjust on the fly no matter what gun you are using.

For rifles its somethign like 82 164 and 328yrds. If you know that you are going to be sighted for those distances then you know you can adust yoru aim accordingly. That is my advice. But with hunting there will always be way more suggestions than real answers :P.

More in field examples with the rapid shot system

70 lb bow. Zeroing set at 60m. Aiming with main pin for 420g arrows. Aiming with next pin below yellow for 600g arrows

Hi,
I also have the zeroing perk.
I went to the range with the 70lb bow and 3 pin sight.
The bow actually shot 15, 30 and 45 metres for me, with the zero set to 20, 40 and 60 metres respectively.
They were dead middle of the bull as well so try that m8 :)

you are almost right~
1. 3-pin is not a good scale sights, dont use it, even it gets the good sight view.
2. 5-pin is better, but 1-pin night sights is best for long range shot with rifle zoom in perk.
3. your 5-pin zero @60m is almost right, only little deviation. I got the correct zero range include tenths after Decimal point.

69m heart shot:
{LINK REMOVED}

If new taiga DLC include 80lb new compound bow with led tracer flare arrow, i will list the all zeroing range with/without perk of bow.

and I may list the windage drift pixels when rangefinder bow sights DLC release~
I got a excel that completed the test of windage from 1m/s~ 8m/s wind.

BTW, your startle call double shot is impressive^^
1 tip for you: startle call range is 75m and bow spooked range is 50m
