Hirschfelden visibility issue response from dev

To anyone hoping visibility issues will be fixed on the map, here's the response I recieved after reaching out to support regarding the issue.


"Thank you for providing this valuable information. This issue is not currently being tracked, because it is not considered an issue currently, as the cover mechanic seems to be working fine every time we've tested it recently, and when we've asked other players. It's likely that the cover you are attempting to use is simply not adequate, even though it might look like it should be."


I suggest others report the issue if they are experiencing it as well, as it seems thats the only way we'll get them to look into it.

EDIT: Support has sent the devs a video showing the issue. Fingers crossed for a fix!

I had stated the issue with visibility on the map, then asked if this was intentional or not.

Unless they see a proof with screenshots showing that the visibility has changed, don't expect a different answer. Their reply seems to indicate they have no idea what the issue is.

So I guess not many are reporting it other than a couple of posts here.

In my follow-up reply I offered to provide screen shots and/or video of the issue (which I'll do tonight), and also provided links to three threads on Steam and one on Reddit discussing the issue.

Here's to hoping for the best but expecting the worst I suppose.

its been reported since august this year, iirc it happened after a specific patch as I tested it myself to confirm it after seeing a report then on forum

I just joined the discord and found the comment you mentioned. One person replied "Yes" and they said "figured, ty". I should note that person is tagged as playing on Playstation, not PC.

This was apparently the scope of their investigation into the issue after my bug report (the timestamp matches when I got a reply to my email). I'll still send a video tonight, but honestly I'm at a loss for words.

I should have specified; they actually asked twice.

The first time they asked if cover was working in HHR they got no responses.

The second time they asked "Is cover wokring on HHR? Like hiding in bushes" in a feedback thread regarding red deer population. This was when they got their answer from the Playstation user.

I found this response by going to the Feedback and Support section and searching the word "Cover".

I see, thanks for clarifying. I still think their question is ambiguous, as cover seems to be working in SOME bushes. So technically it works, only much less often and for no apparent reason (foliage density seems to be irrelevant), which effectively reduces the process of finding cover to scuttling between bushes in search of a magical invisible hotspot.

I truly hope that's not a representative example of how they address bug reports. On the other hand, it would explain so much.

I'm hoping I can get this point across when I record the video tonight. I know where there's a perfect spot where the light bushes do nothing, the heavy bushes do nothing, and then one weird small patch of light cover works. It really is the inconsistency that is the biggest issue, and the obvious sign that something isn't working as intended, especially when compared to the maps where it is working.

I hope this isn't how they address bug reports either, but its seeming like it might be. The support staff on Discord (which I'm guessing are volunteers akin to Reddit mods) are the gatekeepers to the developers it seems.

I'll do my best to get through to them. If need be, I'm into this game enough right now to be persistent and annoying haha

If they ask here for a change they would get responses and that the community staff should be forwarding the question to all support platforms the game is on and monitoring replies.
