Its best advantage is zero to dirt cheap Ammo cost ....
EDIT: Went to the range and tested the 243. Found the issue: Ironsights and zeroing are broken. At 50 meters 243 zeroed to 75 meters shoots very low. Zeroed to 300 is far more accurate. No such issue while using a sight. Zeroing works fine with optics. Tested the 30-06 and it doesn't have the same issue. Zeroing it to 300m and shooting @50m gives you high shots. Zero to 75 and shoots perfectly unlike the 243.
Solution: Make sure you are not using ironsights with the 243 or if you must - zero to 300 meters.
Yea, sure it works and it's realistic but it's not optimal in the game. The 243 is just as accurate and much more powerful. It's also free. The 223 doesn't have a place in the game currently, unless they move the 243 back to class 4. Personally, if I am going to use something else, I would go for the air rifle. At least it's silent.
