yes I do

I personally prefer bowhunting, #1 because I think it's fun. And #2 because it doesn't produce much noise, meaning you can keep hunting animals in the area.
Now it doesn't mean that you will be able to kill a herd without any animal running away, but it still saves you from a lot of tracking.
Otherwise, the Solokhin has been my favorite rifle for a long time. But then there's another camp of players who prefer the M1 Iwaniec. But honestly, both are good general purpose rifles that work for the vast majority of animals in the game. They can handle 3-7 or 4-8 respectively.
I don't see any of these rifles, do you unlock them later on or something?
The Solokhin is from the Weapon Pack 2 (Goes thematically well with the Medved-Taiga DLC)
And the M1 Iwaniec is from the Smoking Barrels Weapon Pack DLC.
But if you have neither, don't feel pressured to use any of those rifles. If you're completely vanilla with no DLC then just go for the Ranger .243 and consider getting the .243 Polymer-Tip ammo for it for improved penetration, which will help you with going deep enough for vitals hits.
Bow hunting I do not recommend for beginners unless they get the High-Tech Hunting Pack DLC, which pretty much trivializes bow aiming, with the rangefinder scope, since bows come with a very big "bullet drop" arch. Without it, it can be quite a challenge to get used to.
But another unmentioned benefit of bow hunting is that you can bring one bow with 3 kinds of arrows, and be able to hunt every single animal in the game with no worry. Everything from rabbits to water buffalo. Just equip the correct ammo.
thx, I thought I had the DLC, turns out I just have the vanilla game
I'm level 10 right now, played about 20 hours, finally got a new scope!
Still haven't bagged 2 coyotes in cheelah :)
maybe I'll check it out if I can mute voice chat
they're very easy to spot being Black or White, they are largish & round, fly slowly
I think if you near miss them in flight they can be grounded and then you get another try
I played for 2 weeks to get 20k$; and got that in about an hour at Silver Ridge
most would recommend to find a spot to set up and stay but what i do is set up decoys in a area or 2 and proceed to walk around to hunt animals in the decoys attraction range (500 meters if i remember right) as you do this the geese will have a chance to come into shooting range even without using the caller or being near the decoys, went from level 15 to 28 in a day or so.
this really breaks up the boredom of sitting in one spot but do keep in mind geese can still see u and will fly off if u are running in a open field or atleast try since the geese will all fly in the same direction at a steady pace so be ready to get really good at leading targets
