Try to connect zones with species u want to be there though.
Establishing a few rabbit zones isn't going to let you start seeing deer.
As far as a different map goes: SRP has a lot of medium to long range shot opportunities and good species diversification when it comes to how animals are distributed on the map.
8 species (Turkey, Mtn Goat, Puma, Bison, Elk, Mule Deer, Pronghorn, Black Bear) make it far from boring.
