Is this rack really a thing?

So, the black tail deer shown on the loading screen for LL has a huge rack:

I have three diamond black tail deer and their racks are spindly and pathetic by comparison:

Is the rack on the loading screen just a tease, or is it possible to actually get?

Back in the day (before TruRac came along) All the racks looked the same. Same number of points, same mass, perfectly balanced etc... By looking at the deer we couldn't tell if we it was a level 3 or a level 5 Blacktail. Since TruRac came into being we've got more diversified racks. As for the loading screen picture...that rack is now a thing of the past. Maybe it will come back if Blacktails ever have a Great One.

Ah, that's what I figured. Too bad it isn't still there in the RNG options; it's a really nice looking rack.

They seem to have a bit of problem displaying mass or maybe it's just too time consuming to program it. Dunno. The Jordon Buck held the world record Whitetail title for over 30 yrs and it was a typical rack. I was kinda hoping when they created the Great One that one of those 6 racks they made would be have the same sort of inside spread, tall tines and heavy mass. Oh well, at least we have a variety of racks now.

A rack like that on a blacktail is extremely rare to come by, at least in the United States. In my life I have seen tens of thousands of blacktail and only two racks came anything close to that photo.

The trurack system does fall a bit short on the diversity aspect though. Out in the wild I see a larger variety of racks on blacktail bucks than the trurac system yields.
