Is there any way to disable the camera's screenshot feature?
I would like to know whether or not there's any way to prevent the ingame camera from saving pictures taken as screenshots. There already is a dedicated screenshot button, and it's frankly really annoying to have to go through my screenshot folder after each session to delete dozens - or even hundreds - of pictures.

And I do mean hundreds, since the camera is a very poorly implemented feature that has never gotten fixed, and whether or not it registers a picture of an animal as valid or not is entirely arbitrary, meaning that you can take dozens and dozens of pictures of the same animal with no way to verify whether or not the game deems the picture valid other than mission completion. Seriously, not even a sound cue or something? An ingame checklist?

Nope, it is hardcoded. No other way than to delete the screenshots afterwards

The camera works fine. The vast majority of times a photo is not accepted for a mission is the simple fact that they are taken when the animal is too far away or vegetation obscures too much of the animal. For bunnies the animal might have to be within 25 meters. Need to be within 40-60 meters for mid to large sized animals. In answer to you question though, no there is not a way to keep photos from being filed as screen shots. When I take multiple photos of an animal before having one accepted I delete those I don't want to save the same day. Keeps me from having to sort through the number of screen shots saved under my profile page.

The camera doesn't work fine and the vast majority of pictures are rejected for no clear reason. Any animal that can be spotted ought to count as an animal that can be photographed, thank you very much. The system makes absolutely no sense.

"You might have to... / maybe you should..."-arguments basically prove the point that there are no clear, hard rules as far as the camera is concerned.

That's what I thought, but I guess I hoped it wouldn't be like that.

the camera doesn't work fine. i don't know how many pictures i had take of cave walls and landmarks to get ones that passed the check.

Where is the location of said screenshots?

Exactly. And the fact that you have no way of knowing is kind of absurd.

As far as I'm aware, I don't even know if you can actually track the amount of game you've bagged anywhere ingame. But you should be able to easily tell whether or not a photo has been registered.

In fact, they could just give you a tiny reward or something. 100 points and 10 XP the first time a photo of a unique individual animal is registered as valid or something like that. Something that wouldn't upset the game's progression balance, but would clearly communicate that you have succesfully captured a photo.
