Need help with mallards
Hello everyone.
I have a trouble with mallard ducks. After Bloodhound release they stopped land on near my decoys. 8 months pass through and ducks still don't visit my blinds standing on need zones. Before Bloodhound release I could made fast travel to any tent and ducks always floated near decoys. Nothing now. I reseted my Layton population but it didn't help. They float anywhere but not near decoys as the did before.

Do you have the same issue? Did developers change something?

Not sure if you have tried this. If you know the prime time for the ducks to be there, go to another location a little ways away. Rest to the prime time. Then fast travel back. If you rest in the tent near the decoys, they never show up. Just had my first diamond doing this.

I had a tent set up right behind a tripod-seat which was right on the edge of the river/lake.
The mallards and the tent were only 20-30 meters apart.
I could fast travel to the tent, crawl to the tripod and shoot ducks without scaring them.
My conclusion....mallards in the game are deaf, but see very well.

This was from past experience I did not agree to the the new terms, so I don't play anymore. I don't like being blackmailed.

Imo they shud make ducks like geese. Would be so much better. Let em fly over and randomly land on water. Like in classic. bird hunting is so good in classic.

No, I have not tried this and won't try. This is strange. Ducks must work, no matter which tent you rest.

I think mallards and cinnamon teals are broken right now. I cant call cinnamon teals but i can call Canada geese.

I am 99% sure I had this happen once on Layton. I only shoot some ducks if I happen to see them but once I was waiting for something else and 3 landed pretty close to me in the water, not lured in or expected. It is completely possible that I may have frightened them without realizing it and they were just coming back to their spot.

I have several diamond mallards and harlequins, all taken the same way -- with the .22LR, from up to 125m away. Prowl the shorelines, looking ahead with the binos and hunting with your ears. No blinds or decoys required. Of course it's not like real duck hunting but if you're looking for trophies it's an easy way.

If you're looking for a more realistic bird hunting scenario I would recommend the new Mexican reserve. You are required to take pheasant on the wing and it makes all the difference in the world.

There's a waterfowl reword coming sometime early 2022 which should hopefully change them to work more like they do in theHunter Classic. With the way ducks currently work, sitting in a blind and calling won't really yield any results.
