Does the wounded reindeer stay within marked area of mission?

Trying to complete the wounded reindeer mission but have not been able to find it. I followed the tracks as far as I could before they disappeared but nothing. Does anyone know if this animal stays close to the camp?

for me it just runs off and i cant catch it as it is always sprinting away from me...i tride using an atv, but i can only ever get about a fraction of a second to take a shot befor it gets out of view (which is literaly when i get out of my atf right next to it) not to mention this is the only deer that seems to not get scared and run in circles and it stopps making noise after around 45 seconds which makes chasing it that much harder. So for me it does not stay neer camp in fact i had tracked it 10 km away from camp as the crow flies however in reality i walked for around 20 km in real distance as it did not just run strait and it never stopps running. The poop literaly went from just now to saying fresh durring my attempt to track it

It can run outisde the mission area once you find it, but it is always inside until you find it. You have to track it and kill like any other animal. It took me awhile to track it down and get a shot to kill it.

When I found it, it was on the river, not far from Gunther broken camp on river. You need to use binos to spot deer for Alena to give you the rest of the mission.

Setup a tent just before the area it spawns.

Exit to menu and then continue. The deer resets to where it starts and you can finish the mission.

Rest one to a few minutes at an outpost. Didn't work?
Exit to the main menu, and then reload back into the game. Still not there?
Exit the game to desktop and relaunch the game. Nope?
Try to vary the time you wait at an outpost. Instead of 1 minute, try 24 hours. Then repeat the whole process again.

If it still didn't work after that, there is a good chance you've done something to soft-lock yourself or the quest is bugged, you should make a support ticket.

If you have trouble with that raindeer mission, setup a tent near where you first see it and exit to game menu and load it it again and it will spawn back at same spot, thats a cheat way to complete it, worked for me

I did the same thing for a bear mission later in that map

The problem with this one is even if you try sneaking it will just wonder off out of range and because the area is so dense with bushes its near impossible to get a fix on it before its gone. The only way I completed this mission was by setting up my tripod and calling it in.

Perennial problem, and you can use the tent strategy multiple times in Medvedьььь throughout the missions because it won't be the last time you get one of this format.
