I paid about 34 quid in the winter sale for the complete edition and for me it's been well worth it. I've got 350+ hours played and I've only properly explored 3 reserves. The one factor that determines how much you'll enjoy the game is how much patience you have.

I agree with Joe on this 100%...I bought all the DLC'S on sale though not as a bundle...so all together I paid around $17.00 CDN , to me that was a great deal still I love the game...get everthing you can on sale, I don't think you will regret it..I also have over 850 hrs in the game..love it!

If you can afford it I suggest you get it. If not, buy the base game and buy dlc's at a pace your economy can handle. The game is great, I have very close to 2000h in it and I dont regret getting it.

Happy hunting

In terms of $/hr played, this game has been a huge value for me. I have probably payed $75 for the game and all the DLC I have, but well over 1,000 hours played so it's been worth it. If you catch the bug, you'll probably wish you got all the DLC on sale.

Many known retailers have the 2019 edition on sale for a really good price. After that just add as you like it when cotw is on a steam sale (which happens very frequently.)
For long term motivation you probably want to get one trophy lodge. (Preferably the Saseka one ... it has mor big displays than the other.)
Just remeber that you can try out/enter every dlc map in multiplayer to find out, which ones you really like.
