Right now I've selected another dog after surpassing Lvl 15.
And the dog now tracks in super slow motion,
Bottom line... don't waste your money for a broken DLC.
I couldn't ask for more from a tracking dog. I'm constantly playing, petting, and giving him treats. It paid off. I treat him just like my real dog and gave him the same name. Buddy.
Make sure you enable the Club Beta in-game. The current "workaround" for this issue depends on this, if I am not mistaken. The dog is not supposed to go over lvl 15 tracking for now (not sure if by design or until they have a permanent fix)
I'll enable it and see if there is any change.
So I enabled the Hunt Club Beta... and the hound moves faster when in tracking mode.
But I'll have to disable the Beta again to be sure it wasn't something else.
Nope... no difference - But it seems to track better now regardless.
The odd thing is... the game's hound level up... and I did nothing ?
Was it corrected ? Or is this just another bug ?
Seems to be function normally at Level 25.
Hmmm... was it just a delay for leveling up ?
Weird for sure.
Currently my bear harvest disappeared when I went to shoot another bear.
It was right next to my stand.... and then it wasn't ?
But at least the hound is working again... sorta.
But I'd rather not use it.... because it doesn't work very well.
I regret purchasing the hound DLC in the first place as it's not a very good tool.
At least it works sometimes but maybe not all the time.
Seems to be inconsistent at best. As is this game.
It's simply shooting an animal at random / luck.
Rarely doesn't reflect what real life hunting is.
Tracking level goes (currently) up to 15.
After the latest hotfix, a new bug was introduced where if you shoot an animal that goes out render, it will disappear.
You're in complete control of your kills. Just as in real life hunting. If the kill is too easy nobody is forcing you to pull the trigger.
I was having so many issues with the hunt club enabled, So many CTD`s and pc lockups.
Since disabling it i very seldom have issues now. I have the Bloodhound Dlc and have not had any issues whilst out on a hunt or using him.
My first perk went in the top row and the rest in the second row.
I'm still torn between COTW and Classic. I haven't been too serious about being successful in Classic. Just looking around and messing with stuff. What I want to ask s how is the dog in Classic compared to COTW? I'm talking about the hound that tracks.
I have had him bark when ive got quite a distance from him, Like hes saying oye you forgot about me . I have never had my dog bark when close to my quarry.
i always have the dog sat or laid down well behind me when stalking an animal. I do not know about the dog spooking game as he is always well behind me .
I always have him heel, so he's beside me most of the time. Unless he's tracking a blood trail. The bark surprise me. He never did it before or since, so I won't be bothered by it.
I tested him once to see if he got tired. I ran up a road for 15 minutes and he stayed right by my side. I gave him a coupe of treats for that.
This could be a possibility . Maybe he has heard a Bear approaching your position and barked to let you know its there.
I play on PF reserve atm and the dog has barked many times to let me know that there is a water buffalo coming for me. He has saved my arse many times and ive jumped into the lake and took it down with the .454 . If he barks i run for water.
I'm still not sure about the bark. I'll worry more if he does it again. He gets a pass this time. I've grown fond of him already. He's the reason i'll probably stay with COTW and not go to the Classic.
My goal is to get a Diamond for all the big game on SRP with the muzzleloader. It might take me a while, I'm not sure the muzzleloader will kill a Bison. I did kill a Bison with the M1 and the 30-06 isn't supposed to kill a Bison, so maybe the muzzleloader will too if I use the mini ball. I'm sure the round ball won't do it.
You can kill bison with .30-06 or the muzzle loader, but you won't get credit for it if you get a diamond. It will score as a gold instead. All the other animals at SRP except turkeys, you can pass integrity check using 30-06 or the conical ammo for the muzzle loader.
Kind of a shame the muzzle loader isn't rated for class 9 because it really does a number on the bigger animals.
