[SPOILER] Te Awaroa awesomeness!
I have to get this off my chest, because I think this is so cool.
Also I don't remember seeing another post about this:

WARNING Stop reading if you have not finished the Te Awaroa campaign missions WARNING

So do you guys remember the missions in New Zealand where you chase and photograph/kill the moose? It was kinda cool.
I did the missions weeks ago, some days after Te Awaroa release. I chose to not kill him, because I feel bad for the guy. He is all alone...

So yesterday, after weeks of in-game time in Te Awaroa ( and also real time), I am minding my business, sitting on a tripod, calling for red deer. Out of the blue a moose warning call blasts through my headset. This made no sense! After couple of seconds I jumped down and ran in the direction of the call and yes, I saw a lvl 4 male moose run away.

Apparently if you let him live during the missions, he stays in the reserve! I thought he was mission scripted and would disappear after!

I think this is awesome.

Shot stuffed and in my lodge as a trophy.Would have been rude not to pull the trigger since it was such an easy shot.

It would have been annoying for me to have some scripted moose running around the reserve so I shot him and didnt even stuff him because he would have not fit into my Te Awaroa trophy lodge theme anyway.
I dont taxidermize quest diamonds anyway because they are no challenge and are basically placed there for you to shoot, not exactly accomplishment.

I think it's awesome too. I let him go, and I've come across him several times. I even have one of his need zones on the map.

To complete the mission didn't you have to harvest him? after you took the picture? The announcer asked me to harvest him.

If i remember rightly she says (not verbatim) if you decide not to take the photo that moose are classed the same as deer something something so she wouldn't blame you for taking the shot.If you take the pic the moose does a runner into the woods n that's that. Either way its a choice and you complete both objectives.

yea that's the start after you take the picture she asks it be harvested.

I got the mission complete when I snapped the picture (and the Moose instantly ran as soon as I did). I remember the choice being: shoot it or snap a pic, whichever you choose. She did mention it's technically an invasive species, but she also says she won't blame you if you take a picture and let it go.

Seriously? I had no idea.
This is awesome indeed. Gotta pay more attention while hunting in Te Awaroa from now on. Yes, I just took a picture, too.
