Pheasants! ... Are bird dogs / pointers on the way?

I REALLY HOPE SO! I want German Shorthair Pointers in the game... talk about the most versatile hunting dogs around... I'll take one of those please.

I want it to point at Pheasants! I want to tree squirrels(squirrels next please). I want it to retrieve prey. I want it to track pre / post kill. I want it to be able to swim. Easy. ;-)

Normally I would say let them tweak out the bugs from the first dog, but given their past notoriety with bug fixing, I'm going to keep my mouth shut, lol.

If you enjoy dogs, try Classic, it's amazing.

But this is COTW, riddled with bugs long-awaiting fixes, with a very different environment to feast in.

Let it evolve slowly into whatever it's ultimate demise and legacy will bring to it.

With turkeys and dogs now transfered from Classic, it seems the legacy is going to be very predictable, lol.

Pheasants are going to be on the Mexico map probably released later this month. And they look like good fun.

Awesome! I didn't know that. I took a break from the game for a few months. I didn't even get the dog dlc yet.

I don't have the dog DLC either. They don't seem to do anything you cannot do yourself. If they evolve into something more useful like the pointer/retriever I will reconsider.

Eagle, FYI... I've found the dog very useful AND I think it was one of the best updates to come out in a long time.

No, they were shown on the live steam yesterday and I have to say... It looked SUPER fun. You have to shoot them in the air or you get no trophy... You run around and gather them together before whistling to send them to flight and ... blam, blam, blam, blam... they come raining back down. There is a new shotgun to go along with all that fun too, that comes with the new map.

Yeah, I grew up with bird & racoon dogs. When they can fetch the geese & pheasants, I may have to give them a try.

No way... you're not going to see or find a bird without your dog... Try spotting the birds in either of these videos... The dog's smell will beat a human's eyes every time.

I just think these birds hide in the grass and you can walk right over them and they don't react. It's like they're invisible and you can be right next to them and not know they're there. The dog can smell if they are there now if it's just a residual smell... their nose is like x-ray vision. This might not be the case for all breeds, but these GSPs are crazy. Did you watch the videos?

I really hope they do add pointers and labs. But what you said that means the most to me.... SWIMMING. Lol. I love walking through the water (in any game... if I see it, the first thing I do is try to get in it... sadly it generally means death), and there are some rivers/ponds that I see animals go through/looks shallow enough, but if I try to cut across, it just respawns me. Don't get me wrong, there are some places I can actually walk all the way across, and I love it... but all water would be nice. I also wish dogs could retrieve prey from the water, instead of standing there waiting for it to magically float it's corpse to me lol. Might take longer, but the immersion is better to see a hunting dog swim out, and swim back in with it.
