Sitting in Tri-Pods or similiar is useless?
I feel like its completely useless to just sit and wait for animals. What should I use deployable structures for? Maybe anyone has some tips.

Place ptbl structures near water crossing areas or need zones. No point in waiting around all day for an animal to show up, just go there when the animals are most likely to be there. If you are going to use a tent to fast travel back to the area you placed the structure then it's recommended to set the tent no closer than 150 meters to the crossing area or need zone. For example I place tripods roughly 75-150 meters from where animals using the need zone or crossing area will be standing, Then set my tent up at least 80 meters from the tripod. This minimizes the chance of animals in the need zone being spooked by the sound of my fast traveling into the area. Then I sneak from the tent to the tripod. After you place several of tripods in likely locations you can hop from one to the other covering a number of spots in a short period of time.

Don't give up on tripods ,With over 7300 hours in game and with 1134 diamonds I would say 80 to 85 % came from tripods and tree stands. Good luck and hang in there

Other than for use as elevation when scouting an area, portable stands/blinds are for use AFTER you locate animal travel routes and need zones.

I am the opposite. I sit up there so much, I hate coming down and seeing the map from a 5-6' perspective.

They work great for duck. Most time they don't spook when you get in. I will choose a tripod over a layout blind anyday. When there is no fowl, you hunt deer, moose, fox or hog.

EXACTLY!!!

There are alot of players who are more into an arcade style of gameplay, who just want to be able to start up the game, and than start shooting right away.

There's nothing wrong with that, there's many different ways to enjoy COTW.

And for that reason you cant expect every aspect of such a dynamic game to be pigeon-holed into your particular interest

Tripods were not introduced to make game spawn around it for you to shoot ducks in a barrel. Tripods do not create a hunting environment for you.

How much game will be available in any area is going to depend on alot more than just setting up a stand and expecting animals to start circling you. LOL

They are great when buffalo and bison chase you, just run and set up stand then calmly kill the charging animal.

Same when a wolf pack shows up too. It's all a matter of getting it set up and in it before they attack.

As said, it's good when dealing with aggressive animals. Especially when lions are around. Lions have 1 shotted me every time so I prefer to be elevated.

There's no way you have bagged 1134 diamonds without outside 'assistance'. It's amazing how many people feel the need to admit their crime in public, But I guess, why artificially inflate the yield if you don't tell people about it? ;)
