Not because I enjoy the single player option more, but because the opportunity for hacking in multiplayer would render this game useless to all those customers who bought it for its single player offering.
And advertised as such, would be a breach of contract between customer and supplier.
Hate to be bashing a game that I enjoy so much, but recently some things require bashing over the anvil in order to hope for good steel.
You can check the pinned discussion thread for the annual survey, it is worth participating as they tend to listen well to feedback.
I completely agree with you on those points too, and yes, it would be a breach of contract really.
I hate to bash on the game too, I've been with it since the beginning and kept at it through the various issues at launch and I do genuinely love this game, my anger is coming from a place of love for the game and a disdain for what it might potentially become.
Keeping it offline will guarante that we can play it forever, even if developers will abandon the developing. If it will be online only, the game would be dead if developers abandon it and close the servers. Just like the old games you keep on your hard drive - you can play for example Red Alert because it is offline and doesn't require any servers.
I payed for it with all DLC's and want to keep it forever.
Devs don't look to steam forums at all so they probably won't hear it. The only channel they are in is Discord. However nice to read your support of keeping it offline.
Please EW, we have enough games that require online as it is. Do not make Call of the Wild one of them.
I agree with you, I'll float this question in the Discord and see if we can get a definitive answer.
theHunter Classic is a great example of how online-only is a terrible idea: I only play single player and I've lost count of how many times I got screwed over because servers weren't working. There were times I couldn't complete missions because the game disconnected during a mission, there were times I shot a high scoring animal but couldn't claim it because the game disconnected. It wasn't a problem with my PC or my internet, everything else was working fine but because servers were down the game and its webpage didn't work.
All this crap is the reason I never spent any money buying em$ for theHunter Classic.
