Guns do not display ammo type
Some guns are very confusing when it comes to what ammunition they require, especially to someone who knows literally nothing about guns.
An example of a gun is the Solokhin Mn1890 Frontline. It's a dlc gun, the name and the description does not ever display what ammunition it needs. So I never figured it out until I asked someone for help in an online match, which I can't do for every single gun.
Also, a gun that I really wanted to try was the Andersson .22LR Marksman, where I tried to fit any handgun ammo it did nothing, until I saw it required rifle ammo? Even though it's a handgun? So I'm just really confused. If this can be made easier to understand, or if anyone can give me a guide. I'd be extremely thankful.

just go to the store and select any weapon then select the related items button. That will you show you any ammo that is compatible as well as any compatible scopes.

.22LR is the cartridge type for the Anderson. The name stands for .22 calibre - which is the size of the bore, which is the internal diameter of the barrel; LR stands for 'long rifle'...but here's another confusing bit - it means the cartridge is 'long' compared to the 'short cartridge' which was the only .22 cartridge available at the time the .22LR was developed.

The .22 cartridge family is low powered small projectiles, designed for small game and used widely in target shooting and for practice, because it is cheap. The thing about them is that they are 'rimfire', where instead of having a percussion cap or primer in the base of the cartridge case, the entire bottom of the case is the primer, which when struck by the firing pin of the gun will set off the propellant that gets the bullet moving.

Trust me that cartridge and calibre naming conventions do not make a lot of sense, as different ammunition is named according to the country, bias of developer, method of measuring bore, etc etc. In fact, the best that could be said about ammunition and calibre nomenclature is that it is more or less shamanism, without the spirituality.

If you look at the firearms they will mostly have a calibre attached to them - .300, .470, .47/70, .22LR, etc. That will tell you which ammunition to look at for it.

Any and every firearm is just a tool...the important thing is the cartridge. No cartridge, and your firearm is simply a club.

When selecting the ammo be sure to check out what class of animal it should be used on. There is sometimes a difference between hard nosed and soft point type ammo. For example the round ball ammo for the .50 cal smoke pole can be used on class 3-7 animals while the mini ball for the same weapon is recommended for class 4-8. There is also a difference in the effective range for those two types of ammo.

Extremely helpful thank you guys. I never noticed the compatible items button either. A ton of frustrations solved so quickly, I appreciate the info.
