some of my custom defined keys were not working after the Bloodhound DLC update. One of them had been used for the new dog communication wheel. Others were not dog related as far as I can tell.
Checking the key mapping showed the correct keys for the commands. Setting the same key again made them working again.
I detected no reset or problems with other customized game settings so far.
Edit: it looks like if you leave the settings at default, now short press of LB toggles the huntermate, long press holsters whatever is in your hands. It's possible that is also the case if you bind holster and command wheel to a single button. The new codex entries for dogs mention long press for some of the new commands.
I am confused.
I play primarily on the Xbox (the only console that has a LB button) and I don't have the option to change the key-bindings, let alone reset to defaults.
Are you playing on a PC with a controller (why?) or is there a way to modify the button mappings on console?
I do play COTW primarily on PC with a controller, because I find it vastly more comfortable than using a keyboard. I game on both platforms, but use the controller on most PC games that allow it--I just don't find any substitute for having two analog sticks, two analog triggers, a dpad, and 6 buttons all in easy reach, and an ergonomic package. I do move my right hand over to a mouse when aiming a weapon, but otherwise I just use the controller. The analog sticks also allow for two speeds of movement in walking and crouch positions, which reduce how much sound you generate. I don't think there is an equivalent for the slow crouch on keyboard. Regardless, it's just incredibly intuitive to back off on the analog stick for slower movement. It's also easy to walk in a constant direction while also sweeping the horizon for animals, by rotating both sticks at the same time. In game, this results in your character walking sideways and backwards, where IRL, you would of course just be turning your head to do the same thing without even thinking about it. I'm sure hard-core keyboard fanatics can do the same thing. I can't. I type on a keyboard for 8 hours a day, and I'm very ready to push that thing away in the evening when I play games.
Ok thank you, that makes sense.
