As for ruining the game nope the .22 is needed for rabbit and hares, the M1 is a very good class 4-8 weapon with quick followup shots or you could get the New Zealand reserve and get the 303 which is also a 4-8 class weapon. Its a bit more accurate and hits just a bit harder than the M1.
Only one I have no interest in is the black powder dlc.
No.
Oh ok. Thanks for the input.
no weapon pack is needed (you can hunt rabbits with a shotgon for example. you dont need the .22)
and weapon packs will give you the weapons for free. so i wouldnt buy any of them before close to max level, if progression is something you care about.
Thanks for that.. Though wouldn't a shotgun ruin your points on a rabbit? I'd imagine it would be blown to bits??
Seems more like a cheat hack then a fun gun to me. A bit overkill.
you're fine as long as you load it with birdshot
lul wot?? I can't believe I'm reading this. This is not hunting... If my dad read this, and he's being shooting rabbits for longer than 40 years, he'd have a heart attack. I know it's just a game but t his is madness. You do not, repeat; do not use a shotgun under any circumstances, or load, on a rabbit.. my gosh. And since when was there a shotgun for birds anyway? range guns is where bird shooting is at for obvious reason and if ya gonna get close up and personal on a bird again you'd blow it to bits. Birdshot.. lol, whatever next?
"Birdshots are designed to be used for waterfowl and upland hunting, where the game is agile small/medium-sized birds." ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shotgun_shell#Birdshot )
Also, it's a videogame.
Fair enough but there are better ways to shoot a bird if you ask me.
Like I said, my dad has been a huntsman for well over 40 years. Using a shotgun on small prey such as rabbits and birds seems a bit ridiculous to me.
Now for small game, in the states birds are commonly hunted w a shotgun & the right size bird shot. No. 8-9 bird shot for dove, No. 4 shot for duck although it can vary depending on the specie. They are usually flying 50 mph & a shotgun is the best medicine for them. Sniping them w a rifle is illegal in many areas.
Rabbits can be hunted w a 22 rifle or similar or a shotgun w no. 6 bird shot. We don't usually snipe them w a rifle. You flush them w or w/o a dog, & they are moving pretty fast. Shotgun works the best in this situation.
Which is fair and each to their own. I just wondered how op they were, how soon you'd get em, ie right off the bat, etc. I can't stand buying ingame items that pretty much make you "godmode" from the get go, which is why I asked about em.
That seems a bit weird to me tbh. Of course it's not illegal here in UK and don't see why it would be. Don't you use fake bird decoys in the states? can't imagine sitting next to one with a shotgun in clear view vs sniping from a distance being very practical. Also, the biggest pointer here is range. Naturally shotguns don't have that, you can't hit a bird in flight 50 feet in the air with a shotgun.
Yeah, my dad used to use a 22 rifle but never a shotgun and personally just think it's madness to even think about. I'll admit I am ignorant to these sort of things and never knew about these "birdshot" but I still think it's crazy to even consider shotgun over a rifle for bird hunting let alone rabbit hunting. It requires up-close approach and in general a shotgun was never meant for that sort of thing.
