wp2 if you want some rifle variety, drilling is ok, but I never personally use it and its buggy. The .45 is decent with the shot gun attached. its like a knockoff Lemat II..
wp3 imo is the most lack luster. The air rifle can be fun for a small game and being sneaky.
There is also the black powder guns. Pretty fun if you want to 'play' a frontiers person. if not I'd pass.
I like sniper rifles, and I was seeing more the wp3 and the Smoking Barrels, which do you say is better for snipers?
All this also depends on which class animals you are hunting too. Different guns for different classes or sizes of animals.
The 7mm has really good smack down power and is rated for animal classes 4-9. IMO it is a bit on the weak side for animal classes 8 and 9 so I prefer to use the .338 or the .300 on those (Bison, Buffalo, Moose, Elk etc..).
There is no one best load out suitable for all animal classes on all reserves. On some reserves you will have more shot opportunities in excess of 150 meters than others just as some reserves have more large thick skinned animals than others.
Best sniper rifles in the game are the .300 from the Yukon DLC, and the .303 you get from Te Awaroa. The 6.5mm (I think you get from Parque Fernando), but can't remember shoots really well, but it's underpowered compared to the .303. The .223 is only suitable for class 2 game because of low penetration.
All that being said, the best weapons pack as far as value is probably the Smoking Barrels. It has the M1 which is the only semi-auto option for class 4-8. You also get the Kudzik .50 cal which is an extrememly powerful weapon for close range encounters with bear, elk, and moose.
No worries man. At least you gave it a try.
have fun it whatever game you choose next.
Have a good one
You'll need the rifle to avoid chasing cripples all day, the tripod to get out of reach of danger in certain reserves, and the tent for store access in the field.
You won't need the tripod if you aren't getting DLC reserves. You don't have to worry about coyotes or black bears.
