Report a translation problem
I can't say for certain, although I can certainly think of some things I'd consider a higher priority in regards to gameplay, quality of life, and usefulness. But it's important to not expect the developers to tunnel vision on one thing. So I try to push that point across, even if new breeds may be sooner than we think.
But I can tell you that it's not assumed by the developers that this is a one-and-done deal. Nothing is 100% yet but I don't think there needs to be much worry about there never being another dog added.
And for the same PC reasons I won't get azawakh or pig dogs... :(
