Question about owning a map

Hi there,

do i need to own the map to place tents / stands? Or could i just join an MP game, place a tent, leave the game and join another game and my tent will be there?

I'm not familiar with multiplayer, but the map you play on is the host map: you can use his tent, and place new ones, but if you join another host map, they will not share tents. Nor animals, hunting pressure, feeding zones, ect.

Think of it that way: you don't own a copy of the map, but you can play on the copy owned by the kind host that let you play on his map.

So this means that only the host tents will be active and i need to own the map if i want to place my own, personal tents that are persistent when i exit / load the game?

when you place anything on the other people map. that thing will back to your storage when you left the map

Tents and other structures you place will be put back into your inventory once you leave unless you are the original host of the MP session in which case you basically placed them on your SP map.

Also, there's a limit of 16 tents per map.

I agree. 16 tents is not enough.

There are some mods on nexusmods that remove the limit or increase the limit but they haven't been updated in a year or more so who knows if they still work.

its 16 tents per map isn't it? or is that total you can have across all maps?

You can place tent, but it will be back in your inventory once you leave a MP-Map without being the host.
