It is very similar to the Ranger .243 soft-point but has some differences, but I wouldn't say that it's worse. Good for shooting any sort of deer, except musk deer, but it may struggle to effectively kill anything bigger than wildebeest, mule deer and elk.
Be sure to maintain a distance under 150 and even shorter distance is even more effective.
I find the MN1890 to be the most accurate and the best all-around weapon in the game. It's what my old man used to call a nail driver and it shoots fast, too. Plus it has an added bonus: Anything bigger than a blacktail can be shot twice and still deliver 100% integrity.
