Do predator animals attack prey animals?
Do they feed on them?

This was done as long ago as STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl.......

I do not see such behavior in COTW; I see a bear travelling in a convoy with deer....

BTW Deer are usually not on the menu for Bears.

I've seen it on the african reserve, lions hunt.

I've had my prey taken by mountain lions, no often though and not recently. But prey do spook if a predator is near

Spook my rear end; they just walk around together like Christ had already arrived. No worries about a Grizzly Bear being withing 10 ft of a deer ! Not even close to real. I have hunted on foot for 5 actual days in Yukon Valley and seen Grizzly Bear within 20 meters of a Moose that continues to drink or eat. 5 days of looking for a single Bison in Yukon Valley; not even tracks anywhere do I find.
The "fixes" fixed it alright. Finally saw 4 wolves that used to abound along with the bison; no longer.

intriguing.
could you give some more detail?

I've seen both behaviors; predators and prey coexisting peacefully, and predators hunting/spooking the prey I'd chosen. It's possible that the behaviors depend on what mode the predator is in? It seems like I've seen peace more often when the predator is drinking? Perhaps they only shift into predator mode when they are at or on their way to a feeding zone, not drinking or sleeping zones?

By "hunting", you mean spooking prey animals, ye?
Not actually catching them and eating them?

"you'll see occasionally a predator feeding on your kill."

that sounds awesome.

"but you'll never see a predator taking down a kill."

that doesn't.

Some fixes/patches (whatever ;-) ago, I heard calls from puma or lion (Fernando/Vurhonga) with "hunting". But although I played this maps very often, I never heard it again. Only mating or warning...

Quite awhile back, not long after the Lions were introduced on the Vurhonga Savanna reserve, I'd occasionally find a dead Blue Wildebeast not too far from Lion Feeding zones. I've never seen a predator take an animal down in this game (other than being killed by them myself). Chase them, oh yeah, wolves and lions will do that.

I think bears are not seen as predators in the game, as well as small canids like foxes, jackals or coyotes. They peacefully coexist, while pumas, lions and wolves will spook animals away like you do in the game. And these species also chase prey animals around. But as already said, I also never experienced them actually killing an animal. But this is would be very difficult to see, since you can just see animals within 400 metres around you and they seem to hunt over longer distances (as I would suspect from my observations, but I am not sure, might also be they had right away started another hunt again after "finishing" one hunt).
