Dead areas in Hirschfelden and Layton Lake.
Layton Lake:
1) Mission: Doc #7 Colton Doc Locke - Suppose to harvest a bear in Roonachee Church. I've been to this area multiple times (day and night) but have never seen a bear or bear track in this area. I've shot and seen coyotes and Elk but nothing else. The watering zone is a elk watering zone. Why no bears ? It should be a elk or coyote mission.

2) Mission: Conners #7 - Harvest 2 elk from a stand in Calburn Canyon. There are 3 stands in this area but almost no animals. The area with the stand in the northwest is completely dead - no animals, no track, no animal sound - I waited 1 quarter of a football game watching in this stand. South east area of this zone almost dead - I heard 1 coyote. Northeast corner I seen 1 whitetail at 600 yards. I ended up shooting 1 elk. The next day i waited out 3/4 of a college football game for another to show but never did. I've spent many hours, loading, and reloading the game for something to show up but with no luck. This area is very dead.

3) Mission: Vualez #5 - Harvest 2 coyotes in Cleeleh Hiking Village. There are no coyotes in this village. No tracks, no barking, no coyotes. I heard some bark to the north of the lake out of the area but they will not enter the village hunting area. Can't even see them from the hunting area, only bark, but will not come into the hunting area or even show themselves using the jackrabbit caller.

Hirschfelden: Very few animals in this reserve. I've gone over a mile multiple times without seeing a track or having any animal sounds. If i do see an animal there is only one or there 15 + in a herd. One thing I've noticed: I've never seen a animal or track in the field with the big round hay bails. I actually quit going to Hirschfelden because of so few animals. 99% of the animals I've shot are from Layton Lakes.

Layton Lakes Church, -- Sit in the stand by the tracks, I've gotten multiple bears there. They come in on the right side
Calburn canyon-- I see Elk there all the time

Hirschfelden is full of animals. I played it now for a month from level 1-60. Except in some mountain areas the map always turns pink when hunting. Discover some need zones and these will be populated with the time.

Church area: I tried that with no luck. I've seen some bear tracks (1 time) on the north side of the railroad tracks but that's outside of the kill area. I've never seen any inside the kill area.

Caliburn Canyon area is a dead area on my computer - at least where the hunting stands are located. There are whitetail and elk in the hilly area north of the northwest stand but they do not come into the open area. I chased the whitetails out of the woods into the open area with the 4 wheeler but haven't had any luck chasing out the elk. After i chased the deer down to the river (about 20 whitetails)...they all returned about 5 minutes later to the hilly area. I didn't shoot any of them because i wanted to see what they would do unmolested.

I can not find a bear either at the church on Layton Lakes. I thought maybe it was because I have a sweet whitetail feed zone right out in the field in front of the hunting stand. I don't want to delete that zone, but maybe some bear might venture in if that zone was gone. I also tried searching at all hours of the day.

The other missions I have not gotten to yet.

On Hirschfelden, I have seen plenty of animals. Maybe you need to find more need zones to populate the map better. I see lots of animals in the hay bail fields, depending on the time of day.

I have to check on resetting the game ? Some say it helps make some things work better. Layton Lake has plenty of animals but sometimes i go to Hirschfelden and don't see any animals at all - even after being in game for a 30 to 45 mins. Something is wrong on my end.

Took me 5 or 6 times.. I'd bet 30 hours Its not a reset issue just the nature of the missions.
By the tracks and use the Fawn call.. i tried the other call with no success got the fawn call first night done.
put my tent 150 yards down the tracks so i could get there quickly.
Canyon is the same way.. as soon as you have the Elk mission.. keep at it you'll get it
Coyote missions almost drove me nuts but again it will happens when you find the right area.. they are there they do not answer calls much but creep along the boulders at the lakes edge.. i got them at night.
I got them all completed just took alot of patients

$D@rk Re@per -

I thought you had to complete missions to level up. ???

The Calburn Canyon mission requires me to be in one of the stands. I don't have a portable stand.

Roonachee Church mission there is no requirement for a stand but there are no bears in the kill zone - only elk and coyotes. No feed, sleep, or waters zones for bears.

Cleeleh Hiking Village there is no requirement for a stand but there are no coyotes in the kill zone - only elk and black tails. No feed, sleep, or water zones for coyotes.

Hirschfelden there are huge areas with no animals. I can't what is not present. If I'm lucky i can shoot 3 animals in a hour. There is no point in going there when i can shoot 3 animals in 5 mins or less in Layton Lake.

I don't have a tent. I've been to those areas at night and during the but never seen any tracks inside of the kill zone. not 30hrs but 5 or 6 times. I've killed a lot of bears with the fawn call but it doesn't work if the bears are not present.

I'm at level 42. yeah, something is wrong on my computer with my version of Hirschfelden . I don't know how to fix it without messing up the rest of the game because Layton Lake is ok other than some of the missions.

Check the south area in Hirschfelden. Dont't kill to much animals to save the need zones. Leveling in this area was very easy. Roe Deer, Wild boar and Fallow deer everywhere. Red deer is more in the noth on my map. All animals are very noise sensitiv. So crouching and noise reduction skills are necessary.

Don't use the ATV.

There are very few animals and very few tracks. Like i said, there has been at least 6 times I've walked 1 mile and not seen and tracks or heard any animal call out. I've never seen any tracks or animals in the fields with hay bails.

You need patience. No running, no walking, just crouching or sit down in a stand where you have a needzone in visibility. Check the wind direction as well before you choose your stand and line-of-fire. The map is full of animals.

Yep
The coyotes are there you don't see them.. they are there though..i got them creeping along the lake edge at night.. not every time but they come through.
The Elk will def show up thats the easier of the 3
The Bear i had to call in using the fawn call.. I am OCD man lol so I had to finish them. Got this thing about the game beating me.
Takes time man go do other hunts and stuff return later try again.
Otherwise it becomes very tedious
I feel your angst I've been there

I tried that mission for a couple of weeks from the hunting stand near the tracks but they would never come within the mission kill area. I moved along the tracks and set up a tree stand on the tree @ 6773.9, 11076.7 with a tent nearby. I started to call after dark and in my first hunt I completed the mission, plus the next black bear mission. Give it a try and you should have no problems.
