duck hunting question

im seeming to be out of luck when it comes to duck hunting only one wave comes in and then nothing can u all tell me spots or is this a bug cus ive noticed the same thing with geese (very few to none come in )

Mallards in Layton ?
Cinnamon Teal in Fernando ?
Harlequin Ducks in Yukon ?

Because to me , they are all Ducks !

mallards ive yet to try hunting teals

Ok .
I have only couple locations that i see lots of them . I never really hunted them specificaly .
I don't own the equipment for hunting them , so it's purely random .

But that said , i know a lake that has them all the time . I'll try to send a pic for you .
If i would to make a setup for them , it would be there .

They moved Mallards around in LL so they wouldn't all be on just 2-3 lakes. That big bunch that used to hang out on near the SW outpost in Roon is largely vacant now.

ye i used to sit in a tripod and there were soo many i just gunned em down fast traveld to the tent on the other side and take out as many as i can then go hunt deer for 20-30 minutes come back and repeat but ive noticed nowdays that there is nothing there

I’ve got 12 tent/decoys on LL. I start at 0600 and work my down the line. I average 6 ducks every spot. Comes out to be about $1000 a minute. I get to the end and start over. Sometimes goes all day. I’ve had them show up at night. Do the same on Fernando with the teal. Almost as good as Layton. Trying to make it work on Yukon. Harlequin haven’t been that interested yet. Duck hunting pays for all the tents, tripods and ammunition. No duck blinds. Just tents and decoys. Cacciatore 6 shot pump action shotgun is my go to.

Kauhikoa, can you show or describe your locations? The 6 ducks per spot, is that shooting them in the water, or in the air?

Tips on duck hunting? Is your tent 150m away from the decoys, or closer? How quiet do you have to be to get close to the ducks, i.e. can you fast-crouch or do you have to crawl prone?

Are the decoys necessary? I really don't want to have to buy that DLC just for decoys, but I would like to hunt ducks to get my shotgun points up.

tents must be +/- 150 mt so when you fast travel don't spook the ducks

you must crouch at least on the last 50 mt

decoys are necessary to have the ducks near your blind, no decoys they will probably stay far and you only can snipe with the .22

to go up on the shotgun grind i will advice to make geese hunt also with decoys, this is the most fast way to grind ( i have the 2 DLC for the fun )

I go prone when sneaking up on ducks. They have excellent eyesight. I use the .22 but if they are close to shore I'll use a shotgun. Geese are much easier to hunt with a shotgun than ducks. I can usually bag about 10 geese between 0530 and 0700 hrs game time. Tip on geese, flush them up by hitting the X key and then shoot them. If you shoot them while they are on the ground do not be surprised if they wind up underground and become unharvestable. Goose Caller and decoys are very useful and I use a waterfowl blind rather than a layout blind. 15 decoys per spread works fine.

i got the duck and cover pack a few months back still cant find good duck locations where do u all have ur duck hotspots ? and thanks!

that place was good until the nz map came out looks like the population was messed with a little bit whitetail are easier to find now and blacktial have been moved around a little for me looks like ducks as well

for me atleast im not finding ducks there since the update oly 3-5 then nothing and i sit for about 50-60 minutes everytime i duck hunt

First off, you'll find them in Parque Fernando only.
Second, visit all the lakes . I find them all the time at the lakes no matter which ones .
They are pretty easy to find imo .
