300 Magnum. (best gun in the game but you'll need rifle score to unlock it)
Smoking Weapons pack.
M1 30.06 caliber.
Those are my two suggestions.
I'd say it's worth getting the Weapon Pack #2 for this weapon alone, especially when on sale, since its release it hasn't left my loadout once.
only problem is that i can only buy 1 dlc right now, between those which rifle do you guys think will be the most versatile for deer/big game?
if you buy a weapon pack, they are all available right away.
if you buy a map which comes with a weapon, you need to grind it to unlock.
+1 on the M1. That thing is a beast and sounds like you're firing a cannon.
Between the two DLC's, if we're talking Weapons Pack 2 vs. Smoking Barrels, for sheer entertainment and bang for your buck, go with the Smoking Barrels weapon pack. The M1 is a great weapon, it will serve similar purposes to the mosin, and to me is basically a semi-auto version of it rather than bolt action, while the others included with the DLC are also fun to shoot.
Since I rarely find myself using the handguns, I'd also prefer getting the three big guns included with Smoking Barrels, compared to only two with Weapon Pack 2.
i'll have that in mind when make the choice
-map Dlc are Silver ridge peaks and Africa Vurunga savvanah ,Yukon valley(for the .300)
-best weapons are the .300 m1 garand
.300 yukon valley dlc (also nice map)
.M1 garand smoking barrels dlc (also gives you the capslock rifle thats verry cheap but got a big punching power good for staring players who are stuck with a .223 or a .243 and aint hitting vitals
-Atv dlc (i only use it when opening a new map or place a tent on a certain spot but helps getting to new outposts so much faster.
thats about all you really need.
Later you can buy the tent dlc so yo can make spawn points on your map.
With this you got a good (cheap starting weapon with the capslock....than you can buy the m1 garand....and than the .300 (that is think 90k credits)
You have in my opinion the 3 most fun maps ( i would advice starting with silver ridge peaks)
+you have your starting maps (layton lake and hershfielden)
And the atv dlc saves you a lot of time! believ me starts getting annyoying walking to a outpost and than hear or shot a animal and he runs the other way....500 meters back again,....
It gives you the strongest shotgun in the game, the muzzleloader is also op except for it's slow reload, and the M1 Iwaniec is the best rifle to hunt animals classes 4-8 which is basically what you like to hunt. All those deer you listed are class 4 or 6 and elk are class 8.
The M1 Iwaniec is better than the .30-06. It uses the same exact ammo but shoots faster and has a bigger magazine with 5 rounds instead of 4.
I'll definitely take a look and the smoking barrels dlc, and maybe think about a couple maps as well for later.
TURKEYS! Silver Ridges is very fun and varied map. Tons of deer herds too.
