I am going to change from Eckers to M1 Garand (real nema )or iwaniec (created name for save money in royalties)
I won´t use Eckers anymore. Really I like more Garand and how it looks and the sound.
Thanks to all
But in RL the difference would depend on the velocity of the bullet leaving the barrel. If you are using the same ammo, the rifle with the longest barrel would have the highest velocity. This means longer range and more impact energy.
And in the semiautomatic mechanism, some of the energy from the gunpowder is used to power the chambering of another cartridge. This means that some velocity is lost, but this also means the the recoil is less than in a bolt rifle of the same weight.
Newtons third law of motion......
Iwaniec ... It feels like a war crime when I use it.
Still waiting on my babe, .308 Tikka sniper.
The performance of the rifle is great though.
The extra round and reduced weight are what made me shift from the Eckers to M1--though I do like the ping reload too.
I have two rifles with an offset scopemount, a Krag in 6,5 x 55 and a Winchester -94 in 30-30. Shooting with an offset scope in my experience, tends to place the points of impact on the target in a semicircle Like in an unhappy face " :-( " On the Winchester I also have to rotate the scope 90 degrees anticlockwise, so that the left/right dial do not come in conflict with the ejected chasing. This in turns presents me with an another problem, most scopes has more adjustment on the up/down dial than the left/right dial. In the case with the Winchester, the dials has swapped functions, that leave me with less elevation on the dial.
Having to strain you neck to the left all the time is also a bit uncomfortable in the long run.
Here in Norway where I live, shooting at an animal at a distance of more than 150m/164yards (Moose), and placing the shot anywhere else than in the heart/lung area would get you in trouble with the law. Due to animal welfare laws, the shooter would risk facing criminal charges. This may include the revoke of the all the firearmslicenses the hunter has and the right to hunt, a hefty fine or jailtime.
So if in-game I do not get full penetartion (DLH-shot) on a moose at 300+ meters with the 30-06, that is just realistic to me.
Happy hunting folks! Keep them rifles loaded! :-)
THIS
In real life you can't just mount a modern scope on these rifles. The Solokhin and M1 should be corrected and have the Helios rifle scope.
I agree. Scopes on vintage rifles just do not look right.
Besides that, I shoot far better with the ironsights on my Krag, than I do with my modern rifles with scopes. The ironsights on my Krag is diopter competition sights made by the manufacturer Konsberg, so they are genuine Krag sights.
But in low lights conditons, there is no way around but to use scopes.
played a lot with the 30.06 and now with the M1
but also used other weapons like the musket
And i have my weapons also in my lodge
(and i want them all with a lot of kills when i check them out)
