This is the only mission ingame (as far as im aware of) where your choice makes a difference. If you kill Mr. Black you will no longer receive side missions from the guy who's into nature and photography. You will get side missions from the other guy.

I did not kill Mr. Black because mission related diamonds are pretty stupid in that they are the easiest diamonds to get and everyone has them (Fantasma wolf (CC)is another mission diamond example).

He's invincible until you finish the 2nd mission involving Mr. Black.

idk exactly but he seems invincible,i shot him using .270 several times but when i was doing that mission he escaped with 100% health ....maybe im bad shooter)) and there is another diamond mission bear in taiga that appears in the last mission(you have to kill it to complete mission)

like Autobot said you have to wait till the 2nd Mr. Black mission, then you get the option to photograph or shoot him. I did the photo, then shot him and got credit for both missions.
