An easy way to kill coyotes?
It took forever just to find two of the little bastards but now I have to find 5, 1 in each region. But these little ♥♥♥♥♥ are so easy to startle and so hard to find, even with the jackrabbit caller for them.

Any tips or tricks?

Coyotes and Foxes aint stupid like the rest of the Animals.

Dogs are descendant from Foxes ... prime example.

Yes sure you can fake throw a stick for your dog once or twice and he will run off looking for it ... but fake throw that stick a third time and that dog will stay put, looking at you and in hes mind he plots ways to kill you because he knows you got the stick.

Coyotes in the same manner, once or twice calling them and they are intrigued, but a third or fourth time they be fleeing cause something is up.

Dogs in general ain't stupid and they catch on quickly .... it is in their genes

So this got pretty intense.

The devs said animals do not spook, they never specified the Animals, you just assume all. I have all needed skills. With my hrs played I reached lvl 60 and did a new game reset and is now lvl 30.

If you ever got close to a Coyote and not snipe it 100m out you'll see it spooks when using the caller over and over.

That is all I am saying. Not saying your claims are false, but then we play two different games I assume.

Also just using the search function in this discussion you'd find countless tips on hunting Yotes and Foxes with Veteran players that clocked over 1000s of hrs telling people same thing when people ask for tips ... it's that they spook after excessive use of callers and do not act like normal animals do.

And I can confirm this because as I said ... I saw this happening myself over and over again

I apologize as it wasn't my intention to start any sort of major debate.

When somebody starts BSing about the game and animals in general like "dogs descending from foxes" in a different post, and stating the exact opposite of what the devs have said about callers spooking animals, its complete nonsense.

Now I see in his latest posts that in 120 hours of playtime, he got to level 60, then reset the game, then made it back up to level 30 again. LOL! Whatever.

120 hours is equivalent to only 3 weeks playing full time at 8 hours a day and he made it to level 60 in what? Maybe 2 weeks? Give me a break. It took me a month just to get to level 40 playing at home for 6 to 8 hours a day and this "genius" made it to level 60 in under 3 weeks.

Next he'll say that Fennec Foxes and Red Foxes can breed.

:steamsalty:

Learn to play a game mate, not that hard. If it took you so long to level up, you're obviously playing it wrong. Prob because you spam the Coyote caller. Makes sence

LOL! You may have wanted to use a Calculator instead of a Salt Shaker. Almost 300,000 XP to get to level 60 and you get a few hundred for killing one coyote. You do the math.

Where are you still on "dogs descending from foxes"? Any answer there? Didn't think so.

You can go from lvl 20 - 60 in just 2 days. The system is broken.

Ok this is only my opinion but after 1100hrs in the game you can use the callers as much as you like and it wont spook animals. I don't carry callers now since they changed animal behaviour so unless something was changed in the last 6 months call as much as you like to have more of a chance of calling animals to you.

I have killed a diamond fox by calling every 15-20 seconds so a diamond doesn't know more than a level 2 its just simply more aware as all the higher level animals are compared with the lower levels. I have sat in stands calling over and over again coyotes and even if they spooked through wind they would still come back to calls. That was probably 2 years ago when I completed the missions so like I said something might of changed.

We know EW made the animals not respond to calls if they get spooked now so maybe that's why calling is becoming hard for some? They only have a range of 200M so unless you get within that distance without spooking them in the first place the chances of them coming to a call is very low. It's why I don't bother with callers now.

@Sparky you say you only use a bow and can get from level 20-60 in 2 days? Ye sure thing, I've had to restart my profile many times due to corrupt saves and there is no way anyone is making that kind of jump in levels in 2 days without playing the full 48 hours.

Wah, I never said anything about that. I'm only level 26.

Edit: Nvm, I just realized there's another Sparky.

Sometimes I wish animals could tell time. I've harvested animals using need zones 90 min before and after the posted time frames. Yotes are sneaky. You have to have your head on a swivel when you start calling. I was calling to a Lvl 7 that hung up in taller grass/brush about 150 meters from a hunting stand I'd paid to erect. He just flat did not want to step out of that cover into the open. After 20 min or so he did and I took him out. When that shot rang out 2 yotes skeedaddled out from under the hunting stand I was in. Cliff behind me, short grass for 50 meters to the right and left and those 2 still managed to sneak right on in while I was focusing on the one to the front. Talk about getting ones self esteem hammered. Jeesh.

You're acting daft....I never said I hunt only Coyote and Foxes. And just because I said I hunt Bow only does not mean I occasionally get out my 22 rifle and shoot ducks and jump from spawn to spawn to shoot them.

And ofcourse I am overreacting when I said only 2 days. Obviously it is slightly more, heck add me as a friend and check my stats in game, damn I will even give up my profile for assessing by an EW Dev, cheatless save.

Damn, You'll see even see I am legit lvl 30 on my second save.

No thanks mate I don't care how anyone plays. Its just a game and we all play different. I was simply giving my opinion not facts as you always claim to have.

Coyotes seem to see and smell you further away than other animals so patience is needed when calling or you can simply use the game as it is and go to water at there drink times and make it easy. If you think bow hunting makes you a cut above the rest and that's the right way to play then good for you but posting the way you do then claiming you would send your profile to EW to prove you haven't cheated is funny.

Point is, they can analyze my profile and statistics. I am open for evaluation. All legit. Heck I will even give them a right now when they see this post.
