An easy way to kill coyotes?
It took forever just to find two of the little bastards but now I have to find 5, 1 in each region. But these little ♥♥♥♥♥ are so easy to startle and so hard to find, even with the jackrabbit caller for them.

Any tips or tricks?

setup a stand near a need zone and call from 12am too 1am every 5 mins. Put the stand in a clear area to make seeing them easier also they will flank the call so never expect them headon when you get a reply call from one

They flank the call? So like, if you look directly towards them and use it, they will come in from the sides instead?

This mission completed after I harvested 2 coyotes in 2 regions. Maybe you'll get lucky too.

God I hope so. I've been trying to kill them for the last 4 hours. 0 kills so far.

Got lucky and sniped one from 258m away across a river. Turns out you only need to kill 2, thank god.

That's probably something they will fix so it'll be back to one in each region soon.

Yotes like to circle downwind of your location when you use the caller and will frequently hang up at the edge of a tree or brush line and look things over rather than walk right out.

they have excellent hearing and smell, vision is average. you need to be silent, and hidden with at minimum a white visibility bar. don't move, even turning and rustling the brush can scare them. use scent eliminator. be patient, they take a while to draw in. unless i'm traveling and stumble across one, i've never had a yote come in closer than about 30m. around that distance they'll smell you even with the scent eliminator.

♥♥♥♥ coyotes
I'm mostly just putting this here to vent but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I hate those little bastards. The easiest to spook animal, mixed with one of the smallest body sizes, some of the best hearing, and an insane sense of smell. On top of that. lets give them a preference for tall grass, make them totally silent, and give you at least 3 unaviodable missions to hunt them.

The fastest I've completed any of those missions is 3 1/2 hours. I'm currently stuck on the "Late night with the dogs". I have 0 issues hunting anything else in the game but even with tips, tricks, patience, and callers, these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are the most annoying thing in the world.

From what I heard they are pretty damn smart in real life as well so probably accurate to their character.

Yeah but it doesn't make them any less ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I wouldn't mind if these were optional quests but it's just forcing me to waste hours of my time hunting these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I'm fairly new to the game ( couple months play time) but the bit I've played Layton I've had pretty good success with them. Any time I'm running around and one yelps a warning (which usually startles the $**T out of me) I just check which way the yelp came from and if the wind is good I find a nice hiding spot with a good view toward the yelp and start calling. They almost never come in from directly where they called from so be sure to scan left and right a bit. If nothing shows up within 6-8 real minutes I just leave. So i don't really chase them around, just capitalize on crossing paths with them.

I find them randomly all the time, but on missions to kill them they yap a lot less and seem to spawn less as well. 5 minutes ago I had one silently leap out of a bush and clip through my camera only to disappear.
