Usefulness of the Night Vision scope.
I'll post two screenshots. One with the Hyperion scope at night, the other with the Night Vision scope.

Hyperion (perfect view):

Night Vision scope (blurred view):

It was raining at the moment and there was a fog. It stopped raining now, and fog may have gone away, I'll check it out right now and update the post if the view becomes clear. But I'll still keep the post here, as it is relevant in my opinion.

Night Vision scope being obscured heavily by fog is an issue. Also, why the hell is it written GPS and Wi-Fi on it? Just to make it look high tech? Those don't serve any function in the game, and I fail to see how it would serve any function on a scope IRL anyway.

You got those on your smartphone, no need for this crap on the scope. That looks cheesy in my opinion.

It was definitely the fog and rain, as it is less blurred now. But it is still less clear than the Hyperion:

I tried with flashlight ON and OFF by the way, didn't make much of a difference.

All screenshots were taken at the same area and point of view. Just zoomed-in a little bit more with the Hyperion to show how clear it is, can even see the Black Deer I killed. Zooming-in more with the Night Vision scope didn't remove the green-hue blur.

i have not this DLC but it seems not night vision, only scope with a green light

In most circumstances it works as proper night vision, and is useful. But it seems it is negatively affected by fog. To the point it becomes useless in such scenario.

Maybe it is normal, maybe not. Might need some tweaking. Erasing the ridiculous GPS Wi-Fi texture on it would be a start. Looks stupid IMO.

Yep. It serves no purposes. Along with the red navigation buttons. It's not what is used to zoom-in and out. It's the usual zoom-wheel. Those should also disappear in my opinion. The rest is okay. Should just be solid black.

The red buttons could make sense if you could adjust the intensity of the night vision, but you can't. You can only zoom-in and out.

After they bugged world's lighting after some update (smoking barrels one I think) there is no need to use night vision equipment. You can see things right without night visions. If they will fix the lighting (yes, IF, you never know with these guys) probably there will be a need to use that equipment again.

LOL, totally agree with you man. Well, at least the High-Tech Hunting pack comes with some nice bows and an OP bow scope.

The binoculars I have no use of. But even though the Night Vision scope isn't necessary like you mentioned, it can be useful at times. I have the spot with scopes perk, so both go well together at times.

But in some scenarios, the view is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥-up. I'll post two other screenshots. One showing the NV scope being totally clear, the other being totally over-hue green.

Didn't know they changed the lighting, so thanks for the info.

Yes, in foggy areas and during the rain there is no use of night vision stuff. I think it is no bug, rather that they tried to simulate real life weather conditions affecting night vision equipment - there is even info if I remember correctly in item description that depending on area weather it may be not usefull at all. I've never used in real life that kind of equipment so can't really tell if it really affect it that bad.

What I've noticed so far: Starting from 19:00 there is never fog around and the night visions works well. After 21:00, never mind where I go and on which reserve there is usually foggy around so I can go back to normal binoculars and headlight.

I don't think they changed the world lighting on purpose, it just came out of their control, lol :D Everything is so much brighter, reserves during day, weapons skins shine painfully birght, nights don't need night visions anymore.

Same here. Thanks a lot for all the info. I would really like a red flashlight for realism speaking of night. Standard flashlight not spooking animals just doesn't seem realistic. And I'm not even a real life hunter.

Will probably never happen. As it would "look weird" to most people or something.

Also, why the hell is it written GPS and Wi-Fi on it?

We can only guess, but my own guess is this would support sending a photo just when firing (or a short video) and GPS information to a smartphone. That kind of thing could be useful.

You know there's optics out there that are running a computer? Look up "ShadowTrax." That's certainly not what we have in-game, but might explain where the visual inspiration came from.

Pretty impressive looking scope. Don't see any Wi-Fi or GPS written on it though. GPS could maybe make sense for some form of position tracking, but Wi-Fi just doesn't. In what wood is there Wi-Fi hotspots?

Wi-Fi has a very limited range.

Some run off bluetooth connected to your phone and your cell data plan, but then that's pretty useless here also as most of my hunting is done in the mountains where there's no cell reception either, not to mention illegal here as most of those scopes in that class have built in range finders.

Yeah, Bluetooth makes more sense. A built-in range finder in this scope would actually have been great. Legal or not. But I think there's already a skill/perk for that right? I didn't pick it if so, that's why I'm not sure.

There's a skill for the range in the scope yes.

Turn off fog in settings when using night vision, works for me.

Nightvision scopes are useless for me. I can see better and more clearly with the hyperion scope.
I think it´s one of the worse DLC´s tbh.
At first I was amazed by the bowsight, but this thing loves calculate wrong as a soon as there is one leaf in the way, so in areas with lots of bushes and foliage it can lead to lots of missshots.
