I tried with flashlight ON and OFF by the way, didn't make much of a difference.
All screenshots were taken at the same area and point of view. Just zoomed-in a little bit more with the Hyperion to show how clear it is, can even see the Black Deer I killed. Zooming-in more with the Night Vision scope didn't remove the green-hue blur.
In most circumstances it works as proper night vision, and is useful. But it seems it is negatively affected by fog. To the point it becomes useless in such scenario.
Maybe it is normal, maybe not. Might need some tweaking. Erasing the ridiculous GPS Wi-Fi texture on it would be a start. Looks stupid IMO.
The red buttons could make sense if you could adjust the intensity of the night vision, but you can't. You can only zoom-in and out.
LOL, totally agree with you man. Well, at least the High-Tech Hunting pack comes with some nice bows and an OP bow scope.
The binoculars I have no use of. But even though the Night Vision scope isn't necessary like you mentioned, it can be useful at times. I have the spot with scopes perk, so both go well together at times.
But in some scenarios, the view is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥-up. I'll post two other screenshots. One showing the NV scope being totally clear, the other being totally over-hue green.
Didn't know they changed the lighting, so thanks for the info.

What I've noticed so far: Starting from 19:00 there is never fog around and the night visions works well. After 21:00, never mind where I go and on which reserve there is usually foggy around so I can go back to normal binoculars and headlight.
I don't think they changed the world lighting on purpose, it just came out of their control, lol :D Everything is so much brighter, reserves during day, weapons skins shine painfully birght, nights don't need night visions anymore.
Same here. Thanks a lot for all the info. I would really like a red flashlight for realism speaking of night. Standard flashlight not spooking animals just doesn't seem realistic. And I'm not even a real life hunter.
Will probably never happen. As it would "look weird" to most people or something.
We can only guess, but my own guess is this would support sending a photo just when firing (or a short video) and GPS information to a smartphone. That kind of thing could be useful.
You know there's optics out there that are running a computer? Look up "ShadowTrax." That's certainly not what we have in-game, but might explain where the visual inspiration came from.
Pretty impressive looking scope. Don't see any Wi-Fi or GPS written on it though. GPS could maybe make sense for some form of position tracking, but Wi-Fi just doesn't. In what wood is there Wi-Fi hotspots?
Wi-Fi has a very limited range.
Yeah, Bluetooth makes more sense. A built-in range finder in this scope would actually have been great. Legal or not. But I think there's already a skill/perk for that right? I didn't pick it if so, that's why I'm not sure.
I think it´s one of the worse DLC´s tbh.
At first I was amazed by the bowsight, but this thing loves calculate wrong as a soon as there is one leaf in the way, so in areas with lots of bushes and foliage it can lead to lots of missshots.
