A question about fleeing animals
Do the animals run for their lives when they see a human from 300 meters away in real hunting like this game?

Why do you think scopes magnify what you see through them?

My question is not about scopes.

Their very existence answers your question. As does wildlife photography.

I mean do animals really flee in herds when they see only a human? It seems weird to me hundreds of wildebeest run away when they see a human from far away. Or we can say gigantic moose , they run away too. Is this true in real?

What I would like to know is the eye icon at bottom right that shows visibility and the sound bar that shows noise .....

How "visible" does watch icon mean vs distance.

How far does each noise travel vs each line of sound.

Yes. Animals are not "entirely" stupid, they learn and pass on what they learn. They flee, en mass, from all known predators. The bigger the herd the more likely it will happen.

But you can bypass what they "perceive" as "predator" with things like blinds. If they can't smell you and don't see your legs they don't perceive you as a threat. This is actually why cats crouch so low when stalking.

I just went camping IRL last week. I hammock hang. Because of that a doe and a fawn grazed for hours within 50' of me, because the wind was coming from their direction.

Prey animals probably will because of natural selection.

They have had thousands of years to learn.. and a few hundred with guns... so the flee range is longer now...

There is a reason people pay someone thousands of dollars to guide them .... it's not arbitrary.

Very reasonable, we dont throw spears on them anymore. They know what a gun can do.
Let me tell you something. A couple years ago while I was on the shooting range with 5-6 people with me, about 20 dogs started running towards us from 100meters all barking. Then we showed them our guns and without any shooting all of them dispersed in seconds.

When I was a kid, there was a starling infestation in my neighborhood, and they drove all the native birds out--they were also incredibly loud earlier in the morning than I appreciated. I made a pretty good dent in the population with an air rifle, but the flock learned quickly, and would fly away as soon as I raised the rifle. Curious, I brought out a broom, and raised that up, and off they flew. Finding and dislodging the last nest was the real fix, but they were great target practice up to that point.

Animals in well-touristed sections of Africa are habituated to the Land Rovers and Land Cruisers, and generally ignore them--even the predators. I would not be interested in leaving the vehicle though.

The short answer yes ....

The long answer ... I come from Africa, and I can assure you that if you walked through the Savanna every animal will scatter at the sound of a twig breaking in an abnormal way. Let alone they smell or see you.

Predators on the other hand you gotta watch. Here in the Savanna the Hunter can easily become the Hunted by a stalking Lion you do not even see a few meters next to you.

It all depends really. Animals in a Herd, when one spook, they will all automatically spook. It is like one person yelling "BOOOOOOOMB" in a building while running for hes life. Ofcourse everyone else will also follow the guy yelling "BOOOOOOOOMB" because it is instict.

Living in constant fear of everything, I pity them :steamsad:

Well, next to big cities it's the opposite, last week I "spook" a herd of wild boar with my bicyle sounds in a Berlin forest and they fled not more than 30 meters and after 10 minutes they even came back without noticing me at all. Then a wild sow saw me (distance ~20m) twitched a little and just walked on. No fear at all. Yes, we have hunters here, but they keep invading our streets and gardens
XD
