Best guns for long range shooting?

I am using M1 and Mosin rifles to hunt deers, wild boars etc. But when the range is 200m or more I have trouble killing them, they usually escape wounded and dont die.
Any guns good for 200m+ hunting?

7mm for those animals. In my testing tonight it's a good gun until moose, then switch to the .300

Well, 7mm ammo description says that its effective range is 150m. How about Martenson 6.5mm gun? Its effective range is 200m.

Hudzik .50 rifle seems to have impressive penetration and expansion with 200m effective range. Maybe I can try that too!

Despite what the description says, the 7mm is highly effective for class 4-7 animals at 200+ meters. For Elk, Moose and higher I go with the .300 or the .338 The 30.06 is also good for Class 4-7 capable of delivering double lung penetration on a Red Stag at 200 meters. Effective ranges are important but so is projectile size. Small size = slower bleed out rate.

I just "destroyed" Rocky Mountain Elk with Hudzik Double lung shot, animal barely walked 10meters before going down. But this weapon takes ages to reload

.50 Hudzik is amazing especially with the Minié Projectile

even tho it takes a long time to reload it is very powerful.
i personally live that rifle but since its loaded with blackpowder it creates a really big puff of smoke so you sometimes have trouble seeing the animal after a shot.

Yea, one shotted a lion (although it lived for half a minute). Didnt pass harvest check but the weapon is really powerful, hunted a dozen of gemsbok , they drop like flies at 200m range. Guess I have to use 7mm to hunt lions.

My favorite gun recently has been the Drilling rifle. It truly is capable of taking down class 5 to 9 animals. Also to note if you are at long range to an animal and don't think you can get a double lung then switch to soft point. Make sure its a broad side shot otherwise you won't penetrate. I've tested this on buffalo with the .300, haven't tried the soft point for Drilling yet, at 364 yards and soft point gave medium bleed rate vs the low bleed rate of the polymer at that range.

I've used Martenson 6.5mm, it looks good in the stats but it isn't that great imo especially against bigger animals, 7mm is a better choice imo, after that I suggest getting the .300. Eckers 30-06 is also a decent free weapon if you have the DLC packs.

You can get a free .338 If You have the Parque Fernando map.You have to complete a mission with stone circles, can be done quick with a Youtube guide.
