The moose warning call at night is downright terrifying
I'm assuming it is if not authentic it's at least close to the real thing. Pretty certain that if I was in camp IRL and heard that I'd wet myself, with screaming like a little girl a close second.

It's pretty close to the RL sound of a Moose. They are also dangerous to the point where if you look out and find one in your front yard one morning....call your boss and tell him/her that you might be a bit late in getting to work. Especially during the rut or if it's a cow with a calf.

During a hunt at night I literally jumped out of my chair LOL. I have heard they can be plenty dangerous.

I've taken to calling them a forest-bus

Heh, yeah, you could voice a horror movie trailer with warning screams of moose and bison only. Those are really unpleasant, especially up close when you didn't expect them.

At night - Moose, Elk screams...lions, bear growls....pigs exploding suddenly from the bushes...none are good for an older guy like me with a dodgy ticker! Add in the horrendous, sudden thunderclap out of nowhere to round things off, FML!

+1

I've had some wet your pants encounters with moose in the wild. i'd rather run into a bear and her cubs than a moose and her calves.

then you should hear bob cats in heat. oh my god. It sounds like some woman is being murdered. My friend called 911 in RL because she said it sounded like someone was being killed... the cops came out and one of them started laughing and told her that was the third call that night about it. Youtube it. lol

In real life.... get a moose calling across a frozen lake at sunset and you'll swear it's big foot

In the 90s I moved from the city to Bozeman, Montana. Moose can sound terrifying. I also walked up to a bull moose and got within 10ft before a "real outdoorsman" kindly informed me " that thing can kill you in about 5 seconds". I very slowly backed away and from then on avoided all moose type life forms....young and dumb I suppose :steamfacepalm:

Try the Elk caller and wait for a reply, whilst crouched in a Hunting stand in the dead of night!!
Or be in Yukon Valley when the Wolves Howl.

You don´t need to be afraid of the wolves howl, it´s just an ambient sound and not tied to actual wolves nearby. It´s unfortunately just fake.

Their warning calls have made my heart jump many times, haha. Latest one was a few weeks ago when I was stalking a rabbit in the bushes and then just straight ahead of me a female moose called. Really made me jump! Despite hearing that call so many times, my mind always think: Predator! I guess it must be primal instincts, haha.

I know that! Meant that it's haunting when you're just bimbling along and "Aarrrrooooo" just opens up within 2k's of you.
