[Edit] Here's an overview for everything integrity in the game: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1266155889
Gets even more weirder with the bolts used with crossbows. You need to use the 420gr bolt for everything from coyotes and all the way up to black bear, as the 600gr bolts, listed as class 3 are really class 4.
Here, easier to use I've found, as you can consult by reserve:

I think they need to revamp the whole integrity thing. The weapon/ammo that is classed for the animal should be the only one you get 100% with. Shooting a deer with a .22 is stupid, and should give you 0%, same with birdshot on a hog, or a 300 gr arrow in a bison.
I completely agree. It's one of the things I think need to be worked on and fixed
This has been a problem for both new and experienced players for a LOOOOOOOONG time and have enormous amount of complaints and posts about this.
Their own handbook "Codex" Says Recommended weapon class 3 (That has nothing to do with the weapon, its the ammo that has the "Class rating") and think
"Nice! I just use the class 3 ammo on a class 3 animal" NO no no no...
Why would you think anything else than to shoot a Class 3 animal with a Class 3 ammo!
Red Deer needs 420 or 540 for integrity.
And the integrity hardly nets more money for the bonus.
I usually just ignore that integrity BS.
And I refuse to carry a different gun for every animal.
...when one gun can take them all down in this game. ; )
I've long grown tired of tracking down all the animals for harvest.
The Canning .300 takes them down in one shot.
No more looking for tracks that aren't there ?
I saw a guy take down a buffalo with a pistol in one shot on Mountain Men (History Channel) and it wasn't even a 45, so there's that. Meanwhile in the game I unloaded 3 bullets with the .44 in a wolfs head, didn't kill it
