0% Integrity on Red Deer with Crossbow and Weapon Class 3 Bolta?
I'm using the Crosspoint CB-165 Dark Star with the 600 GR Broadhead Bolt, which is a weapon class 3. The red deer are a recommended weapon class 3 animal, but I'm getting 0% integrity on them with this equipment. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

The integrity in CotW is a bit weird. The Red Deer is indeed a Class 3 animal and the 600gr Bolts are Class 3, as well. However and for whatever reason, the Red Deer is not allowed to be shot with the 600gr Bolts/Arrows, but the 420gr. That's why you got 0% Integrity.

[Edit] Here's an overview for everything integrity in the game: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1266155889

Yeah you can't use the .338 or .300 rifle round on them either, so it's consistent with that...

Hm. Super odd. I hope this is something that will be addressed. Thank you Tenby for the link!

Yes, arrows are weird. Though, the stats provided ingame have never been trustworthy. We've always depended on guides made by people that go and take their time to test. The 300gr arrows, for example, are listed as class 1 but they are really class 0.
Gets even more weirder with the bolts used with crossbows. You need to use the 420gr bolt for everything from coyotes and all the way up to black bear, as the 600gr bolts, listed as class 3 are really class 4.

Here, easier to use I've found, as you can consult by reserve:

Awesome, thank you for the link El Poto, that helps a lot. I'm glad I'm not the only one, but still a little annoyed by this.

apparently you can take elk with the 600 gr arrows/bolts, and get full integrity, though with the crossbow you only need the 420 gr to take them down effectivly.

Integrity is weird, like said above. you can get 100% with any weapon below the class weapon, like a .243 on a moose, or a .22 on a bison. good luck with a quick kill doing that though.

I think they need to revamp the whole integrity thing. The weapon/ammo that is classed for the animal should be the only one you get 100% with. Shooting a deer with a .22 is stupid, and should give you 0%, same with birdshot on a hog, or a 300 gr arrow in a bison.

I completely agree. It's one of the things I think need to be worked on and fixed

I mentioned this in MANY posts for a long time how the integrity system just needs to be thrown out completely. Quick kill is indeed a good thing, and in real life people shoot white-tail humanely with .30-06 all the time yet that doesn't count as integrity? Real integrity is making sure the targeted game suffers as little as possible. There is a point where stuff like a .300WinMag on a whitetail will cause excessive meat loss, maybe they can base integrity on that notion. It's worse to overpower an animal with too much cartridge because you are wasting meat which is wasting the life of that animal, and even in purely trophy terms it damages hide/bone.

The developers just keeps ignoring this is the worst , they do not seem to be able to admit that their own system is flawed.

This has been a problem for both new and experienced players for a LOOOOOOOONG time and have enormous amount of complaints and posts about this.

Their own handbook "Codex" Says Recommended weapon class 3 (That has nothing to do with the weapon, its the ammo that has the "Class rating") and think
"Nice! I just use the class 3 ammo on a class 3 animal" NO no no no...

Why would you think anything else than to shoot a Class 3 animal with a Class 3 ammo!

600 GR is for buffalo, moose and elk.
Red Deer needs 420 or 540 for integrity.

I think the devs lose track of the interconnections when they make changes to accommodate dlcs by nerfing guns and altering classes. Awhile back they played with whitetail integrity for the 3006, nerfed the 300 to accommodate the 3006, and though I like that eckersley and the changes, not so much the 300 nerfed, its probable that the devs forgot about red deer integrity and bows in that process.

The game's integrity has nothing to do with being ethical.

And the integrity hardly nets more money for the bonus.
I usually just ignore that integrity BS.

And I refuse to carry a different gun for every animal.
...when one gun can take them all down in this game. ; )

I've long grown tired of tracking down all the animals for harvest.
The Canning .300 takes them down in one shot.

No more looking for tracks that aren't there ?

I vote we add grenade launchers and have done with it.

IRL (i think?) its more to do with avoiding making excess damage or waste when killing an animal, i.e. the meat or pelt, but in the context of this game it may be over-done and a bit and out of place. I would be fine if they did it right but... i agree, its all over the place.
I saw a guy take down a buffalo with a pistol in one shot on Mountain Men (History Channel) and it wasn't even a 45, so there's that. Meanwhile in the game I unloaded 3 bullets with the .44 in a wolfs head, didn't kill it
