Multiplayer Goose/Duck hunting issues.
I'd like other people's input on an issue I and my friends are having.

Long story short, we are having to wait up to an hour between goose or duck spawns (for a single flock mind you) and a good 50% or more of flocks wont ever come in to land. We are in blinds, with 20 decoys, and blaring calls. But birds seem uninterested, and then we have to wait at least 30 mins, often much longer, to see another flock.

Thing is; on all of our single player maps, we get flocks every 2-5 mins easy. They come in, they land, they function as you'd expect. But the second we go to multiplayer, regardless of host, location, or hunting pressure, we get nothing.

Are geese/ducks broken in multiplayer? Are the spawn rates nerfed recently? Or is this just insanely bad luck?

For reference, we are using highly suggested locations for each hunting ground. And again in single player we can tell they work wonders. We are also being quiet, and staying hidden, there is no reason for them to spook. We change locations when we feel hunting pressure is too high, and we run ethical weapons, and when possible use tripods to lower impact of hunting pressure.

Any input would be greatly appreciated! Happy hunting out there! :)

Maybe it was just bad luck. I tried duck hunting a few days ago and had the same experience though it was in singleplayer mode.

I have put up a blind and 20 decoys, left the place so the spooked animals calm down. Came back later and there were lots of ducks around my decoys,

I shot one of them and then they were all gone and never came back and I really wondered what the purpose of these decoys and al thisl is when all you get is one shot.
I called them in like a maniac for about half an hour but not a single duck came back.

Maybe I also had bad luck i don´t know, but your story reminded me of it.

Can someone who has more experience in duck hunting plz post how it works?

I was already wondering if the hunting pressure which I create with each kill prevents other birds from entering that zone, but that would totally defeat the point of the decoys. I don´t get it to be honest.

It is nice to know i'm not alone and that it also happens in single player too with other people.

The only reason I made my post is because I can get it to work in single player just fine(most days). Im no pro at it and i don't know all the game mechanics as is, but i'd like to think if i can make it work in single player, i'd make it just fine in multiplayer.

As for hunting pressure, i'd also really like to know how it affects geese and ducks as well. It seems less straight forward for them since they lack need zones and dedicated times for events such as feeding, resting, and drinking.

Any input from more experience hunters is greatly welcome, as well as others giving their input on what works well, or flops.

Yea hopefully someone responds who has some more experience.

One thing that I also noticed is that ducks that are already swimming in the water do not come when you try to call them in, which is weird.
I don´t understand why the call should only affect flying ducks. I had an occasion were there were ducks on the other side of the lake and not were my decoys were and they didn´t react to my calls at all.

I know your pain. We figured it was just my save (since I was host) swapped to my friend's save and his pond had no less than 30 ducks in it. Not only do calls and decoys do nothing for them, but even after all of them where gone, and we knew the spot was good for ducks, none ever came. After 2 real hours of waiting with no ducks we gave up.
