Are rarer animals actually worth it?
I'm wondering if hunting quality over quantity is worth it, I spend all my time hunting roe deer and the easier animals in order to farm money and XP i rarely caught rare animals but are they worth it in terms of money and xp?

I've never bothered specifically targeting rarer animals . Just shoot what I see

Just shoot anything that crawl or walks. Rare animals, as the name suggests, are rare and not worth the time. If you find them, good. Not find them, no problem.

You get a little more cash (maybe even XP) but it's not worth hunting them for XP or money, you will level up and make money way faster just killing everything you see.
Later in the game when you have everything unlocked many people switch to just killing bucks/ high levels/diamonds because it's a bigger challenge to hunt them (due to their hightened senses)

Yep. This is pretty much what I will do too once I get up there.

As long as you don't shoot the first thing you see, and instead wait for the males... get em first then finish off the females.... you should do quite well regardless of if they are rare or not. Rare is pretty friggin exciting though.

This is why they need to implement something to encourage hunting rare and high scoring trophies. How? Trophy Lodges. Give us a reason to aim for the best. I personally wouldn’t want a trophy lodge full of low level roe deer lmao. Especially if the trophy Lodges are viewable to other players like TheHunter Classic.

To build upon this, the Trophy Lodge could provide an additional stat. Imagine if the scores of every animal in our lodge was added up? That score would rank all of us against each other.

For example: if there were 10 trophy spots in our lodge, and if by fluke someone managed to get 10 trophies that all scored at the max of 1000 points each. That would rank their trophy lodge with a score or 10,000. Can that be beat? That’s where rare fur types come in.

Currently rare fur types have little to no benefit, but they could provide a bonus to the overall score of our trophy lodge. Each rare fur type in our lodge would raise the over all score of the lodge.

The chances are almost impossible for anyone to ever harvest 10 animals that all score at 1000 points, and on top of that all have a rare full type. This rare fur type bonus could ensure that everybody’s trophy lodge score can potentially be beat in points/rank.

If trophy lodges allowed more then 10 trophies, that would really increase the chances of anyone ever reaching the max trophy lodge score. 20, 30, or even 50 animals per lodge? I highly doubt anyone would ever have 50 rare fur types that all score at 1000 points.

It would take a few hours for the first few perfect scores to appear... Ever heard of trainers/cheats? People will use them to spawn in animals with perfect scores and down them with an aimbot.

A trophy lodge with 50 spots? That would be 50 diamond rare fur type. I’ve heard of trainers/cheats, but never saw any for CoTW capable of spawning in the best trophies, so unless I see proof of these CoTW trainers I can’t believe it. You got a link?

Just search for "cheater" in this forum and there's enough info that trainers/hacks for this game already exist(ed?), so what do you think will happen if you plan to add something like a ranking list? Go to any online game that has such a feature/list and check the records, they are always impossible - nuff said.

sorry it’s not “nuff said”

Yes there are trainers that give you XP, cash, unlimited ammo, etc. But there is NOTHING that can spawn in diamonds or rare fur types. Your argument doesn’t stand here. I’ve seen them all (cheats/trainers). Again, there is NOTHING out there that can spawn in the best trophies. If you know of a cheat/trainer that can do that, then please... by all means share it to prove me wrong. I’ll wait.

I like the color variations, they add a little excitement to the game. I'd like to harvest one of each type of color variation whether it's a "rare" fur or not. Having said that, I'm not going to give an animal a pass because there might be one with a rare fur around. I'll take a sure kill over a maybe any day of the week.

There are a couple STEAM achievements for harvesting specific furs and one that requires the fur to be taken with a handgun. That's the only kind of bonus you can receive (no extra cash or exp) other than the satisfaction of having achieved a personal goal you might have set for yourself.

This...I pass 80% on what I see. I'm much more interested in the that one difficult male than that herd.

The only reason to hunt rare animals is for the challenge.

This prolly explains some of the screenshots showing players with $9,000,000. I don’t think that’s even possible without cheating/hacking. Heck, the better animals only gives you $1,200.

It's possible if you no life the game, do every mission, and kill many things.... while spending very little. For example, the combination of missions and kills gets me about $100,000 every four hours or so. However once you run out of missions the money intake becomes all about kills.... so $9,000,000 would probably require at least a few hundred hours, being good, and minimal spending.

How are you getting 100k for 4 hours of missions and kills? Doesn't doing the missions eat that time up
