If your visibility meter is on the lowest and steps out of a bush they can see you but you cant see them.
It also can be that some animal is spooking them and they will make a warning call. They are not warning of your presence just an predator, like a mountain lion.
Really? I often see deers walking together with bears. Seems they are not scared of by the predator.
Puma, Mountain Lion, African Lion, and Wolves chase the other animals and can spook them. Often times it takes several moments of looking for the predator to find em but yeah on the maps that have those predators if you notice animals being spooked and you know it wasn't you it is undoubtably a predator nearby. They can spook animals it seems up to 150 meters or so away from them.
Even Brown Bears and Grizzlys aren't as aggressive as people make them out to be. I'm friends with a guy who relocates bear for a living and according to him, even if a mother grizzly sees you approaching their young it will usually just run off rather than deal with you. Relocating cubs is nearly risk free because the mothers usually jet, regardless of the species of bear.
Eh.. This is kind of a false blanket statement.
I've seen videos that say different. Bears are opportunists. Basically whatever food is easiest and closest. BUT. bears will most certainly and can be an extreme predator, especially when hunger sets in.. They hunt fish regularly, kill fawn often, bison calves (with the mom there), moose calves, etc etc. They also eat carcasses, berries, shellfish, garbage picked from humans, etc etc.
So yea bears are not like Tigers or Leopards, actively looking for a moving target to take down, stalking, etc.. They are mostly looking for an easy meal. But to think they cant be extremely aggressive or take down/hunt other animals is inane.
