How does Multiplayer work?

I want to get this game for me and my girl but all the threads I see on MP are old.

- Can we Hunt together?
- Both get XP?
- Both harvest a Kill?
- Are there missions?

From what I read from 2017 threads

- No MP missions
- Only 1 person gets XP
- Only 1 person can harvest
- Buggy spawning together or something

Is this stuff still the case?

I played it once a week or two ago. It is not local or split screen multiplayer, but on two PCs. You can hunt together. Doresn't have built-in voice chat, but in my opinion that is not a bad thing because that kind of service functionality should not live in the game code but be external either through steam voice chat, or discord, etc.

There is nothing stopping one person from harvesting something another player shot and downed, except agreement/courtesy of the players. IMO, not a bad thing either because people hunting together, one might want the other player to get the harvest points/credit. But the game does not enforce any "I shot it I get it" rules.

There was a list of what appeared to be multiplayer tasks or goals, but we didn't try any.

We did not have any connection/spwan issues or lag, etc. That said, we both have "Open" NAT type, which is ideal for games without dedicated external servers for multiplayer -- which this one is.

I know last time I played the MP goals/challenges were more like races kind of. It would be first to kill 3 animals, or first to spot 5 deer, stuff like that to see who could complete it first.

Can you do a Private match and still get XP? And if so, I wonder can you accomplish Hunt Club in Private... tried my hand on a couple servers last night but they were either night which I wanted day, or the host was kicking.

Yes, I think you can get XP in multiplayre hand have that carry into your singel player stats. There were bugs initially with this, but have been resolved at this point.

Not sure if hunt club spans multiplayer and picks up achievements. Probably, but I can't say for sure

Yes, me and a friend are playing mostly Mp.

- Both get XP?
You get xp for your kill and friend get for his. or both get if both hit.

- Both harvest a Kill?
Yes both can harvest a kill, but once one has hit the Harvest animal the other cant take the same harvest. But if i kill one(100%) and the other takes the harvest you still get all xp\cash and so on. It will not show up on your latest harvest but will show up on his.

- Are there missions?
Kind off you have Challenges. so you can take first one to get 2 harvest. or first to get a kill from 200Meters. etc.

Harry you can play MP mode and do hunt club alone, Not tried on "Private" but on "friends"

As far as i can tell with 100h in mp it all counts to your character. But you cant do SP missions in MP.
There makes no sens to not get achievements if you get a kill on a Albino Deer and it counts on hunt club..

Also if host leaves the session is not ended. It goes on.
