Calling deer strategy
I think calling in the game should be more complex and a skill learnt by the player. To use different calls to a deer depending on season and whether young or old! :)

Calling in the game needs work to reflect the Experts
Can I asked how complex are the calling for each animal is in the game? Do you need to make several different types of call to get the attention of a specific deer? And not just keep pressing the deer call aimlessly to come? Will you need skill to do this? Or just keep pressing the call and it always come? I do hope its not as easy as this and the AI is smarter then this and can sometimes ignore!

And while watching a video on a real hunt they say you do not call when they look at you or you will give it away they need to be eating or looking else where.

You just need to press the call button nothing more. Sometimes they ignore it sometimes they come or answer you call. Depending on what you're using different kinds of animals will appear (predators for a rabbit call, roe bucks for Cracking antlers, etc.) There are a lot of different calls but it doesn't take skill to use them (nor does it in real life)

Yes it does Voe just watch the video i posted in the suggestion and how you call you can't spam the call there is certain way of doing it.

And I find a error in the game when you call them and you just stand still the deer keeps coming to you that should not happen and it should run seeing you there.

I hope the developer will change this to reflect reality. :)

Here is something only experts know!

Step carefully and walk quietly (almost stalk) on your way to your spot. Avoid stepping on sticks if you can. If you do crack a stick, wait for a minute. The deer may think you are another animal. Listen before taking another step. Complete silence is bad, that means other animals are on guard (especially deer). Then, wait a minute, take another step, stop and listen, and then continue. This may seem tedious, but a person rumbling through the woods might as well be a band playing.

I didn't say that the game reflects the real hunting. I just said that using the calls is just as easy as in rl. Most of them are automated calls anyway. You don't need to growl like a horny buck anymore to attract them because there are alternatives to that

Thank you but i hope this gets change cause i am very excited when I read about the links of how complex the calls are. Its and added challenge to add more immersion in the game and that is what counts so much!

And its not easy like in RL please read the links! :) There is a complex technique use when using devices you don't just call what you like cause it won't work like the article says!

Perhaps i asked it wrong its not about manual calling but how you use the call device and creating more realism for the animals when you call for more challenge like in real life. Its not easy and that is why Expert hunters say every buck is a trophy!

Keeps complex depth in the game and developer can work on this instead of extending higher persk. Its all about the hunt and not about the levels. :) More extended play for players as they can now add 500 more hours to their already 300 hours of play! Because of taking time to learn what call to use and when! :) Not just spam call all you want.

There is no Rattle call in the game

There is an Antler rattle in COTW.

Have you tried to use the Rattler on Whitetail or Blacktail deer? It should work, but it doesn't. Had a long discussion about this, and i swore up and down that it would work on Deer in PNW. But come to find out through experimentation, that the Rattler used alone will not call deer in PNW.
It will only work on Fallow deer.

I suppose maybe with the perk that makes calls work on different animals, but to me, that is not right.

i use them in conjunction with callers, rattle a bit, call a couple times. wait and listen.:) repeat a few times then move if nothings happening. i do know IRL if you use just rattle it takes forever for a blacktail to come in.
