"Fox hunting will never be part of our game."
LMFAO

Just found that article, and found it a funny read. And here we are today. He should have said, "Waterfalls and creeks will never be part of our game." Just kidding...

Fox hunting is an English sport, where they send out hounds to chase and kill red foxes while they follow behind on horses or on foot and drink tea with their pinkies extended.

They do that for real? Didn't know. Thought he was talking about fox hunting, period. I see no mentions of what you're talking about in this article, so don't pin it on me.

Are they still doing this in England, or they banned it now?

wasn't intended, that came off more harshly reading it again than when i wrote it. apologies for that.

was an interesting read though, although they did add lions :) they're still sticking with no endangered species so far, hopefully they'll keep on with that.

I'll hunt whatever they put in the game though, they're just pixels shooting pixels on my screen.

No problem. I'm not a big fan of real life hunting myself. Mostly playing the game because I love nature first and foremost.

By the way, the title mentions Zebras. I understand the M16 joke, but were Zebras mentioned because they are endangered? Could it be why there's none on the African reserve? If so, I wasn't aware of it.

I know Rhinos and Elephants are constantly targets of poachers, but that's about it. I know Gorillas are endangered too, but I don't know why they kill them. Killing a Gorilla is almost like killing a human, they're so intelligent. That's disgusting.

It’s illegal to hunt foxes with a pack of dogs. You can use dogs to simulate hunting, for example ‘drag’ or ‘trail’ hunting.

You can use up to 2 dogs to chase (‘flush’ or ‘stalk’) foxes out of hiding if the fox is causing damage to your property or the environment.

Your dogs can’t go underground to find the foxes unless they’re threatening wild or game birds kept for shooting - only one dog can go underground at any time.

So the answer to if it is banned or not is 'kinda'.

It was banned by the Labour government around 20 years ago. They still drag hunt. Whether the pack stumbles across a real scent while following the drag is possible.

They used to hunt Hares, Stag, Mink and also a long time ago Otters using hounds. Most Otter packs became Mink packs, since they both inhabit river banks. All those were foot packs. Things like badger baiting with dogs still occurs illegally although it's very underground. You can find traces of dug out badger sets when out walking locally, not far from the council signs declaring, "No Hunting".
Just like with gun laws criminals pay absolutely no notice to either signs or laws.

Thanks for both your answers guys. Yeah, criminals are criminals. But at least there's some restrictions now for people who abide by the law. Not sure why the CEO would be referring to hunting with dogs in this game though. But oh well.

Literally thought it was mostly illegal to hunt foxes period. And that it was what he was talking about. At least it made me learn a few new things. And I think my joke about creeks and waterfalls is still relevant, although not so funny since out of context.

I just learned yesterday that the game's engine wasn't capable of doing those, and was so disappointed. I still don't understand why such an advanced engine can't manage to do these. You got this stuff in pretty old games like Skyrim.

fox rules vary by location. we can hunt them here in specified zones during their season, like most game animals, but it's mostly trapping for fox. They can be trapped in season across the state except for a few specified zones they're trying to rebuild the population in.

English fox hunting sucks, it's as far away from the spirit of trophy hunting as you can get. Just a bunch of rich land owners who are bored, dressing up and as McSqurl Nugget said follow the hounds chasing a defenceless fox to it's doom. Usually there's nothing left of the fox. Shame the English police don't have the time to enforce it's banning.

Seems like a bunch of people who deserve a good ass kicking in the back alley of a bar till some blood flows into main street.

Nah, I got a better punishment: tell them they can't eat until they find a diamond hare in Cuatro Colinas :)

It's THAT hard? LOL

Hunting with dogs is fairly common in the US, Australia and NZ. Different to the UK social event thing though. In australia it's mainly on pig/boar, sometimes deer and goat, and most dog hunters kill the animal with a knife.
