What happens to Dead/Wounded?
So I have a few questions here about animal spawning/despawning in this game.

Keep in mind all of these questions are based on one person's singleplayer game.

  1. What happens to animals that you shoot and never die but are left permanently wounded? Do they eventually despawn or will they be on the server forever? (even if you exit and rejoin?)
  2. What happens to dead bodies that you never find?
  3. Do the need zones ever get changed? Will their areas or times ever shift?

Thankyou for reading, any comments appreciated :)

Good question might try to wound or kill and animal leave it remember where you are at and leave and come back in and see if it’s there still I know they will be if you are in someone’s else’s server I shot a buck and game froze came back into server and was still there
As for question 3 I think they do move somewhat as I had a watering spot on the edge of a lake and feed and sleep zones on the site and this morning the water point was moved as were the other two so I think they do move slightly at least.

Yeah, good question, as I am always having to chase wounded animals for miles before I find them. I must really need a better rifle. Even the ones I am very close to and hit perfectly (100%) take off for a game of hide-and-seek.

I just started this game tonight and shot four animals before finding one of them and eventually tracked them all down. The ground looked like a Friday the 13th movie.

Animals are gone when leave the session.

- If you injure an animal, the effect that carries over to future sessions is Hunting Pressure.

- If you kill an animal and don't claim/harvest it before leaving the session, your Consecutive Harvest bonus is reset to 0%.

Thanks, that answers most of my questions :)

I tested the theory on injuring an animal and it carries over to hunting pressure, does not seem to be doing that on my game, but the animal does seem to have disappeared because there are none of its tracks left.

I also found that if you use the sleep feature..the tracks and all other sign are gone from the ground in the morning... although they still show up on the big map...but ...also on this note...I once killed a deer with a point blank headshot...there was a blood splat and only two sets of tracks but no carcus...I hunted for tracks over the whole mountainside...only to come back later and find my deer laying a few feet from where I shot it and it wasent there before I left to search for it...clearly there are issues here
