Yes, that is not a bad idea. I too hate not being able to see the shot connect. And it is very difficult to take a second shot after the recoil with that scope being that the view is so small. With the Hyperion it is a walk in the park.
Maybe the Hyperion is too good in itself. I don't know.
LOL. The Argus would be even more of a pain in the ass to use then. But it would be okay with the Hyperion I guess. Maybe you have no issues yourself because you predict the recoil, but forget about it for me.
And I'm not the best AIMer, but I don't suck either, and got a pretty precise mouse that is well tweaked to my style. You just have to check my screenshots to see I got a bunch of Gold kills. ASAIK you need to pass all the checks for that.
Got some pretty nice long range kills too among them.
for me the problem is not that its hard to aim with. id say its just less fun to aim with the argus. even though i like aiming with my breath and not with my hands
the view is very restricted and i need to pull back very fast to see if i got a good hit. its possible, but less comfy than the hyperion
I know I don't need it. My point is, you grind your rifle score, all excited to unlock stuff. Then comes the time for the "la-crème-de-la-crème" in matters of scopes....And you get THIS .
I agree there should be downsides to every scopes, so that even the lower-tier ones still stay relevant. But they didn't need to make the Argus with so many annoyances.
I think it makes sense that considering it's bigger glass, it's minimum zoom-in is far away, thus making it wobble more. But they didn't need to make it kind of blurry compared to the Hyperion, and with almost half the view blocked by some huge rubber eye-rest.
I don't know if it has an higher weight, I'm not in-game right now. But it wouldn't surprise me it doesn't. THAT would have made sense as another downside. Instead they decide to make it just bad all-around except for extremely long ranging, and still, the Hyperion can do the job pretty much the same in that department.
SO why even bother as you say.
Because I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I unlocked one point at level 58. So if it's every three levels (which is another dumb thing about this game, we're not playing a damn action RPG here where character build needs to be limited for diversity), it implies that there's not even a final skill point when maxed-out?
Unless I'm mistaking and unlocked a point at lvl 57. But I'm pretty sure I unlocked one at 58. I think I'm now 59. Near the end.
With the intention of playing a bunch more, but with 0 progression after that. All weapons' scores are pretty much maxed-out too on my side, as well as having pretty much all the gear.
Hyperion is always been my favorite and I have no problem making 300-400 m shots with it.
Many times I'll see a couple nice animals in a zone, and want to thoroughly scan around them to see if that level 3,5 or 9 is right there in a Bush next to them, which can only be seen with the argus.
But it's a quick and easy change. I usually have the hyper ion on my rifles, unless I know I am going to be shooting long range.
Trying to use the Argo within 150 yards is near impossible to hold on target.
Sometimes I will have the argo on s smaller caliber, and just switch to that weapon when I need the extra spotting power. This is handy when you are hunting smaller animals like roe deer and canine which are much smaller targets.
I only use the Argus, if they're too close that it becomes a hinderance i remove it and use the iron sights. close as you can get in the game to using tall rings on your scope and looking through them to use the iron sights IRL.
Yep, my thought exactly.
It certainly doesn't feel like it's only a 10mm difference. But if we want to get into technicalities, it's still a 20% difference, and that 20% makes a huge impact on screen, especially when it zooms farther as base default.
I can be great at Math if I apply myself, but when you take a bunch of pills everyday, and you're tired as ♥♥♥♥, you tend to overlook the numbers. I try to just explain it as I feel it. English is also my second language, so even though I've spoken (mostly written) it for years, there's still things I have difficulty with describing.
Like you both guys calling it FOV, when I don't know what the hell I called it LOL. "Area of view" I think. Same with "minimum zoom" or "base default". Just not sure if I always use the proper terms.
I'm also not 100% sure the glass of the Argus is blurrier/less clear, but it feels as such. Like I said, I often make the mistake these days of just describing it as I feel it. Not necessarily doing the Math, or doing a proper side by side comparison.
But anyways, what the guy I quoted said resumes what I feel about that scope in a pretty short sentence. Scope should weight more if it doesn't already (still didn't check again, forgot), would make sense because of the bigger, thicker glass.
So that would count as a disadvantage, while making the scope better when you use it. Again, I know they won't do jack about it, I just started that thread to know if I was the only guy noticing those things.
I just want my SPACE Handbreak and Grizzly Calls back. LOL
