scent eliminator
in the hunter classic i think there was a visible time length remaining when using the scent eliminator, i would like this to be added to hunter call of the wild. How long does the scent eliminator last for per application?

It's 30 RL min or roughly 2 hrs game time and yes, it stays with you when you fast travel. The devs have also indicated that it does not diminish in effectiveness during that time. The name is a bit deceptive though. It does not "eliminate" your stink. It serves to lessen the degree to which your stink bothers the animals so they don't all run away immediately upon getting a whiff of you.

I really wish we could get one of the Devs to answer this question once and for all. Every time this question is brought up there's always people who claim it's 30 min in-game time and people who say it's real time. To this day I still don't know the answer and it's not something that's easy to test because the effect of the scent eliminator is so hard to notice and half the time it feels like it does nothing at all.

I think it works well. Especially when Bear hunting, I notice it most

In fact, they have:

Q: Can you confirm how both types of sprays, scent blockers and scent lures, work? This is in regards to where the sprays stay (location or hunter), do blockers run on real time or game time and do they continue working after fast traveling?

A: Konrad - Quality Assurance
Scent eliminator works for 30 real time minutes (about 2 ingame hours) and follows you around (you apply it on yourself). Fast travelling does not affect the duration or effectiveness of scent eliminator.
Lure scents usually work for 300 real time seconds (about 20 ingame minutes) and stay right where you use them. The direction the lure scent changes if the wind direction changes but the origin stays the same.

Did they fix the scent eliminator? It didn't use to work before.

FoZ It doesn't eliminate your odor. It only mitigates it a little. Animals nearer the outside edges of your scent/wind fan appear to be less concerned about your stink. Those directly downwind remain disturbed of course but any advantage the use of it provides is better than none.

Exactly, it's name is so misleading, it's a scent cover, it doesn't eliminate. Gives you like a 60% or something reduction in your scent, so if animals smelled you at 100m upwind, they could get to 40m while using it before smelling you. If it's actually 60%, that's just a guess.

Great clarifications. I was 1" from not wasting $$$ anymore.

It never stopped working from what I can tell. I've used it since I started playing 2 years ago and the difference has always been modest, but noticeable. If an animal will normally smell you from 100 meters away, the scent eliminator will make it so they don't until they're 60 to 65 meters away.
