How often to call???
Just outta curiousity how often can you use your calls without them actually working against you and scaring the animals instead of luring them in???

I use my predator calls 4,5,or 6 times in a row, no break. Then give it awhile, if no response, try again. If I see prey, I try and predict what they are doing, if comming in, I don't call again, if moving in brush, I might try short call here and there.

Bleat call, again 3,or 4 to start, wait and maybe try again.

Elk, Moose, Red Deer, I try to mimic their call, which is one, maybe two blows. I use these more frequent, though.

Roe couple short blows, don't use much, unless its a nice little Buck.

The problem with the Bleat caller, you get overrun with Does. I don't shoot does usually, so scan treeline with Binos for the Bucks just out of sight.

the specs say 3 per 90 seconds, i did over do it one time and got a warning call so you can do too many. i do 4 per 90 seconds just to be safe, seems to work most of the time.

I ususally call twice in a row when I call, then wait about 2 minutes. It's seemed to work quite well for me.

yea I usually do 1 call every 15s - 30s for about 2 or 3 minutes. Then I give it a rest as I stalk the game. I agree doe really do like the calls and will swarm you. I shoot the hell out of them - its agame not real life :P It usually also results in a male giving a warning call at some point so i can track him down and poke him with my hello stick.

I usually call about 10 times in a row. Then call regulary about 3 times every 15 seconds. If a lot of female's come they generally wont caus3e the male to run far if you dont shoot. If I'm using the bow then I sometimes kill all the females 1st and them go after the male.
I didnt think it was possible to over use the caller (maybe I'm wrong). I have seen animals turn away when I have used it but sometimes they tyrn away it the 1st time I call.

are those 90secs for one caller.. or is it kinda global cooldown ?

I do calls as I am slowly moving, if I spot an animal I quickly prone and move to a covered tree or high rock or log piece for a better view or just use crouch mode if its a good distance away from me

As far as ive found, doesnt matter how many times, you cant spook them from doing it too many times

I normally give one or two calls to grab the animals intrest and get it comming toward me, every time the animal stops comming toward me give out another call.
I tend to try and mimic the timing pattern of the target creature's calls, except when the initial target call is far off - then I spam the call a bit as I walk towards them for a period.

I've only played the Euro map so far (390 hours in - yes I guess I'm weird). High level Male Red Deer can be a bit sensitive to over use of the caller I find. And sometimes Boar just don't give a s**t about it: I once called a boar lying out in a straw field from the tree line about 50 meters away coz I wanted it to come in to the bow, but it just lay there. I crouched walked to within 20 meters of it and called again to try and get it to stand. Nothing - it just lay there snoozing. So I bowed it where it lay. Bug? - Shrug.

Except for the Roes - they are like the cockroaches of the deer universe: they more I spam, they more they come. Useful for when the consecutive harvest bug has bitten you and you want to get it back up to 100% quickly.

Yes, I have same observation.

I have seen animals turn and move away when I have used the call a lot. They also became unresponsive to the call after that. However, since others have noted that it makes no difference it could be that only certian tiers are spooked or that I just encounted a bug.

Animals can stop reacting to caller when they cannot move toward it for some reason. For example, high level moose bull or coyote won't go into open field unless it can reach cover on other side, meaning you should step into forest and call from there.
