Where to shoot the animal?
Hi guys,
i was checking out the wildlife section, but i cant find any info on this. is there a guide or recommendation where to shoot the different animal types? i.e. heart, head, neck and where the best location for the shot is at?
thanks for any info.

Double lung seems to work the best but caliber is also important for quick kills.

Try the lungs, a headshot is not really good, because most of the animals have only a small brain. For a headshot aim between the eyes. But I won't recommend this.

No headshots on Cape Buffalo...you lose the 'trophy organ' due to skull damage.

There are many animals you should not headshot. wolves, buffalos and hogs are a few examples. Beside you should not headshot animals in any case, because of the brainsize. headshots, you can do on GTA and other stupid egoshooters

Lungs and heart. Good idea to study the animal organ placement and figure out where best to shoot.

go for a broadside lungshot right behind the front leg/shoulder and you should be good to go in most cases.
thanks for the tips all ;)

i'm a noob but found a few good videos. if they are facing you a neck shot. if on the side a spine shot or nice heart shot. i saw a video with a guy dropping deer instantly with spine shots. neck and heart will instantly drop them too. the deer next to the dead one ran away for 5-10 seconds and immediately came back. he took down all of them without moving....neck shot means hitting exactly in the vertebrate and spine shot breaking the spine. not just a got-em somewhere in the neck i think shot. ditto with heart shot has to be nice.

spineshots are fixed. you wont get the full score if you dont hit the animal in the lungs/liver/heart/neck or brain (but w/o hitting the skull so ignore that one)

lungs are the biggest and easiest to hit target. especially when starting out and having to use low penetration ammo. i dont recommend frontal shots with soft point ammo

I like aiming at the ass, from behind, with high enough penetration the bullet should go through intensities and hit the lungs

heart is a save instant kill, lungs are enough for going down like a while

good luck

douple loung very high with spine in mind or low with heart in mind from the sides
from front you need a high caliber to go truth the heart on many animals
when animals are agressive an chase you you can also try brainshoot but its easier toi step asiden and shoot in side

For sure, but when a buffalo is at 5-10m and charging, there isn't a lot more to aim at.

It's just the potential downside of getting in close on them.

Will I get better ammo later in game? I only see soft point and AP rounds with the Russian rifle DLC...

In the cooter or Texas heart shot
