Getting closer to Diamonds
Parque Fernando - I'm hunting differently than at LL or Hirsh. On those two maps, if had legs it died. Thus, no Diamonds. Have yet to take my first.

At Parque I've spent many hours hunting Need Zones (quit counting after 130), allowing almost all animals to walk. Diamond hunting's very boring but I don't want to "grind" and destroy all that NZ work. I've been hyper-selective so far.

Twice now I've taken "7-VERY HARD" Red Deer. Using the binoc's, the weight on both showed " ?-540 ". I don't remember the 1st number but I've seem two where the 2nd number was 540#. Both yielded Gold's.

So... for a Red Deer Diamond I assume I need to see " ???-VERY HARD " (an 8 or 9) and weght "541-600"?

"7-VERY HARD" is the biggest so far. What do I need to see for a good chance at a Diamond?

Tkx much!

I did not hunt Red Deer at Parque Fernando yet, but in Hirschfelden it has maximum level 9, so for Diamond anything below Level 9 won't do

However, feel free to hunt Levels 7-8. The game will spawn new animal to replace them, and you might see Level 9 at some point

My experience thus far is an 8-Majestic Red Deer will score in the 800s. 9-Legendary is what you need to find. It is possible that (in a 1K to one shot) a level 8 will score high enough to be a diamond but don't count on it. In fact, not one of the level 8s I've harvested have broken 900 but that could just be the way my luck has been running.:steamhappy:

I've got a diamond blackbuck, shot a blackbuck that would have been a diamond had I not hit it twice, and have spotted another level 5 blackbuck in a new location. My map is apparently home to Trophy blackbucks.

I was doing a mission on Layton Lake today, harvesting blacktail at night with .44 shot from less than 30 meters. Got close to one buck with large anthlers, I knew it was big but couldn't check level because shrub was covering it almost completely. Buck moved at the last moment so I missed vitals. Got 0% quick kill and 0% integrity. TR was 201! My previous largest blacktail was 196 and it was Diamond. This would have even higher score if I cared about score, but I have 2 blacktail Diamonds already so I didn't even bother

I've never seen anything like that! Looks like an overgrown red-oak tree with major limbs (grin).

>>I have 2 blacktail Diamonds already<<
Mostly on YouTube I'm seeing more & more people like yourself, lulling you into "...Diamonds are a casual thing". Certainly not on my maps. Makes me think I'm doing something bad wrong.

Parque is hard, for some unknown reason not as enjoyable as LL & Hirsch. It seems that if I'm hunting anywhere except by water I'm wasting my time. I'm probably trying to treat it as I hunted LL. It isn't working...

Not for me either, those 2 diamond bucks are 2 of just 3 of my diamonds on my current profile, last one is a mallard duck. And I had only one Diamond, a moose, on my previous profile

A lot of the youtubers are using trainers, so don't worry about them. You're just like the rest of us.

A diamond buck Is a diamond buck even If you shoot twice that's the way I look at It . You should get your diamond anyways a harvested deer Is a harvested deer...I have shot a few diamonds only to be given a gold because It ran a few yards geess I hope thats not the case here . And loose out on my quick bonus witch Is fine by me. But don't lower my Diamond to a gold because of It...Most animals run bow shot till they bleed out , In real life your supposed to wait at least two hours before recovering them , It was a hour untill pros have said time and time again to wait more so they don't spook off again , every recovery Is different If It looks like rain you need to track before rain has washed blood away..try not to wait till morning because varmits may destroy animal during the night....

Finding an animal of category 9 is already difficult in itself in the game, then I will penalize you for a bad shot and lower you to gold is ridiculous. The requirements to obtain a diamond must reduce them, or that does not penalize the fast death. :steambored:

I hope some day they fix this we will see how long it takes...I don't care about my quick kill bonus when useing a bow I do like them If I can get them . Because In real life most bow kills can go a long ways before collecting your kill and I'n this game. Getting a animal that close in this game Is hard enough and then to see a diamond and kill It and get gold just because It did not die on the spot geeesss , I don't ask much of this game I just wish they would look Into It. I wish they had more rewards for the bow hunters In this game , I know most people shoot guns so do I and there animals die on the spot easyier than useing a bow just give the bowhunters a break In this game that's all I'm asking .......

They should make changes in this bonus system and animal levels. The system does not seem bad, but you need to readjust the bonuses of the animals, and that level 9 animals do not need a quick death to get Diamond, it's just ridiculous, with how difficult it is to locate this type of level in animals and that get gold for not making a quick death. They should also do something new with the information of the injured animal, or a kind of animated bar of blood where you can see how fast or slow an animal is bleeding and how long it would be for the animal to fall down, it would be of great help to the time to look for or not a slightly or moderately injured animal if we have more information about the type of wound and the state of the animal in its race until it is harvested by the hunter.

EW tried to enforce ethical hunting this way, otherwise players could just blast every animal with .338 for sure kill. This system is not perfect, and they work on changing it. Hopefully, new system will make more sense
